PEACE AT LAST

Peace will come to Israel and to the world. But it will not come through military might nor treaties produced by the greatest minds on earth. Man's best efforts will ultimately fail, plunging the world into carnage and destruction. Christ will come bringing peace.

When the governments of earth have finally fallen, the Messiah of Israel, the Savior of men, will set up His kingdom (Daniel 2:44).

Upon ending the Battle of Armageddon, Christ the King will judge the nations and destroy the wicked (Matthew 25:31 -- 46). The Beast (the Antichrist) and the False Prophet will be cast into a lake of fire (Revelation 19:20). Satan will be bound for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3). And the long-awaited Millennium will begin.

Millennium means one thousand years and refers to the kingdom of Christ on earth. This era, foretold by all the prophets, will be a time of peace among people and nations. War will be but a relic of the painful past. Jerusalem, known for war, bloodshed, and international tensions, will at last become the city of peace and the capital of the world:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more (Isaiah 2:2-4).

The Prince of Peace will rule from David's throne, and the promises given to Mary concerning Jesus will be fulfilled: "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end" (Luke 1:32, 33). JVI.

I agree to some extent. However, I don't denounce everything the world does, and everything the militaries of the world do. They are actually being judged by God to the extent that align with His will, whether fully conscious of it or not.

This isn't just Christian Crusades, designed to advance the Gospel through carnal means, though some of these may have been legitimate--some certainly were not! But these battles and wars also include matters of human compassion and the protection of weaker people against barbaric "Goliaths." These wars are fought in both Christian and non-Christian nations.

Now it's certainly best if a nation and its leaders support Christian causes and form their policies based on their own Christianity. I do consider that possible and exactly what God wanted, if we are to take ancient Israel under the Law as an example. God wanted Israel to fight just wars, to defend their righteous cause, to defend their people, and to advance in pagan areas to which God called them, bringing a measure of peace to various regions of the world.

But ultimately, Christian Civilization does go the way of the world, and we have this great historic Christian apostasy, leading up to the coming of Antichrist. Christ will come back to defeat him and to set up his Millennial Kingdom. I completely agree with you on that.

He certainly isn't going to destroy all the unsaved at the second coming because the Millennium is for them. Satan is imprisoned to protect them.
