Noah is not just unbiblical, it deliberately draws not from the Midrash tradition that the director says, but instead draws directly from the Kabbalah. It's a piece of gnostic art.

If you have seen this movie, contemplating this movie, or just if you are Christian in general, then you need to read this review:
http://drbrianmattson.com/journal/2014/3/31/sympathy-for-the-devil

Long story short, Noah is identified with the serpent, he takes on homicidal aspects, and all of this is to mirror the creator god of Kabbalistic tradition.
Outstanding review at that link.

Hollywood does this sort of thing all the time from the Lion King to the Matrix. Many films are replete with an esoteric underscore whereby the vast majority will only ever see the esoteric dressing intended for the profane.

The most outstanding aspect of that review is that the author can clearly see the depth of utter ignorance of many church leaders.

Alice Bailey wrote "The Externalisation of the Heirarchy" many years ago and the premise found in that book is clearly evident today as the philsophy of the ancient mystery religions is being revealed to the public.

Agreed, excellent review. Thanks for posting HammerStone. Have shared that link with family and friends, recommend others do same.
ScottAU, the same esoteric underpinning to entertainment can be seen in music also as I am sure you are aware.
