Obedience pays off!!!!

In January of this year at was at the lowest point ever in my life and I came crashing down to my knees surrendering my all to Him....I cried out Father help me...for I have such a mess...I made Jesus my savior years ago but I have never made Him my Lord....tonight I sign over the deed to my life and make Him Lord over it.
Then He spoke to me and said "I have been waiting a long time for this so now rest...rest in Me and let me work on areas in your life...heal your heart....renew your mind and refresh you....wait on Me and I will open the right door at the right time." Peace like I have not had in years came over me and that was the beginning of Him restoring me.

I shared that with a lot of people...and months later when they would ask me about whether I had found a job yet or not and I said …."no, God said to wait on Him...I haven't even applied anywhere because I am waiting for Him to tell me when and where.".....One person said God didn't mean wait like that, he expects you to do your part.....I said He meant it EXACTLY like that....

Around the end of September I began to talk to God and say I am waiting Lord and I trust you....Help me to stand firm because the enemy is trying to put doubt in my head. He said "soon, just wait"....well 2 weeks ago an old friend sent me a message...

So I now have a job and my first day I already got a raise...lol

God is so good....the most awesome thing about this testimony is that I have been unable to gain employment since February of 2017....dozens of applications....a few interviews but no jobs.....
When God is in it you don't have to chase it down it comes to you!

I KNOW!!!! I Love Him sooooo much.....and I didn't even mention that I received a call tonight and was told that they have plans to promote me as soon as possible.....I have to learn the ropes first.....I am speechless....God is so good to me!

God will not ask us to do something that is not in our interest. What we deem as our interest is not necessarily our interest. A child might want to cross the motorway while the parent restrains. I pray for patience, for discernment so the obvious is not missed.

Amen, that is how HE works. I have never asked for a pay rise, yet I get one every year. This tear when i was not really expecting one at all, I got one of the biggest ones i ever had, nearly fell off my chair, actually had to query the boss. To God be all the glory.

Hallelujah! He is a good, good, Father and He takes care of His own! I always tell people God is my source, not my job, my husband, or my talents.

Waiting I think is the hardest thing a believer has to do. I understand your story.

My wife and I ALWAYS have had to wait on the things others take for granted.

While others had children seemingly at will we had to wait. After 14 years we found that she could not conceive. Then God stepped in and said "I am going to send you a son" It would take a book to tell of all that transpired waiting on that son. Mockery from others, pity, you name it it came including horrible illness upon me. But it came and exactly as Jesus told me "the mouths of the scoffers will be shut at the telling".

Whole others bought homes at their will we had to wait for one.

Two years before I became a born again, pulled inside out new creation in christ Jesus, we were living on a trailer park yearning for our own place. That winter of 1969 I prophesied in a poem;

Mountain home

The first line "someday I'll have a mountain home with forests all around".

Two years in 1971 later he made a way for us to have that mountain home on a wooded ridge one hundred feet above the Middle Fork of the Saline River.

We had a place but still not a home. It was 1977 when he came to these woods for me. I cannot write that no man cared for my soul. My faithful uncle, Douglas Franklin Jennings told me after I was saved that he had prayed for me daily for years.


My uncle Doug holding me ca. 1949. Doug, saved as a young man became an defense systems engineer with The FAA. He always depended on prayer to solve the problems he was given as he traveled the world to our military installations. Area 51 was a visit he made often remarking "I saw some things there I never saw elsewhere"! That's all he would say about that.

We prayed and prayed for a home. Our beautiful son and Joanna our first daughter were small and when we would come back from a trip to toewn I'd say "let's practice driving up to our new home". We'd drive back to the ridge where I'd cleared a place for a house. Native peoples used to camp right here, I've found arrowheads and old campfire remains on that lofty perch. Across the river I found the remains of an ancient India d mound that had been leveled by pioneer farmers. It was perfectly round, 75-100 ft diameter and about two feet higher than the surrounding elevation. I'm the only living human that knows of it I suppose.


Summer or fall 1971 me laboring on our backwoods homestead. Still a heathen I was saved in1977 six year later.

After years of prayer the Lord awoke my wife and I at the same time. We'd both had dreams confirming that the Lord had heard and had answered "yes and amen"!



In October of 1986 we moved from our beat up old trailer of twenty years to our home above the river. Finally the mountain home was complete.

After years of commuting to Little Rock to work I was bone weary. I began to pray for the Lord to give me something to do close to home if that was OK with him. I prayed and sought him for at least a year with tears and supplications. I had an excellent job working as chief designer for Mr. Ivo Phelps of Phelps industries. He was a spirit filled Christian and a good man. One day the Lord let me know it was time. He gave me that wonderful answer of peace of Genesis chapter 41.

I started my own small corporation to do design and consulting work for industry at large, primarily the forest products industry.
The very first thing that happened after I left my employment at God's behest?

I had NO work. It seemed ludicrous. God tells me to go to work for myself and then there's no work!? I was perplexed as the apostle Paul!

Gojng out the door one day the Lord spoke "pray for work".

I said nothing but thought "Lord I thought I had been"!

Obediently I went to our couch and knelt down and began to recite my prayer for work. As I knelt there the phone rang. It was a business acquaintance and friend. He asked if I was interested in doing some sawmill design work in Clarksville Tennessee for Whitson lumber company. I was!

This was my first project in my new company, Jennings Technical Enterprises INC. JTE Inc for short. It was a good start.

Through the years we had feasts and then famines but always depended on God. He'd provide always. We had no insurance but when my wife was pregnant with our last handful of purpose, Laura, God provide the income to pay. Over $10,000 in cash from start to finish for all medical bills including the caesarian section.

These are but a few of the highlights of our brief walk with God.

He gets all praise all glory, all honor and all credit for everything good that we have received.

A wonderful wife, beautiful God sent children. A home in a wonderful beautiful place. Good honest work that seemed so easy that I often felt guilty for sending invoices.

I hope that some unbeliever, and they are plentiful on this site, may read and be provoked to jealousy and a hunger to lay hold of Jesus and discard their shallow denominational indoctrination.

Wow, Glory to God....what a powerful testimony! Frank what God has been speaking to me lately is to share my testimony instead of debating what scripture means....so that is what I have begun to do. I believe there will be some here who needs to hear our testimonies to stir their faith up to believe that God will do for them what He has done for us and others.

So right! We overcame them by the blood of the Lamb and the WORD of OUR TESTIMONY.

They can be provoked to jealousy and a desire to lay hold of Jesus for themselves. Dead works and traditions will be cast aside when they get the faintest taste of the goodness and grace of the Lord Jesus. Amen Amen Amen!

Flagging people doesn't always work, but I happened to click on this thread and read your OP.

Your posts lately have been wonderfully encouraging, sister. My income keeps slowly dropping lately, but I am committed to trusting Him no matter what, so it's good to be reminded that He always provides; supernaturally if necessary. :)

This is an incredible testimony! Right after my husband died a few years ago, my family had to go live in the basement of some old family friends. They expected me to pound the pavement looking for a job, but I wasn't emotionally or physically able to do that. God told me through a Christian novel that He would provide a job and a place to live in a moment's time. It was months later, but He did just that. I've been at my job for almost 3 years now, and I love it. It's perfectly suited for me. Isn't God good!!!

Doesn't surrendering your life mean taking the cross and following Jesus? Loving enemies and going without so others might have? Among other things?

For me it was surrendering any part of my will for my life versus His will for my life....I wanted to be a successful entrepreneur....a nurse.... a doctor....He wanted me to answer the call to ministry...which is where I am at now. In the past me and God were co-partners in the direction my life should go....but every time I took the path I wanted to take it always ended up disastrous.....the most costly choice I made was to open up my own restaurant....the opportunity was too good to pass up....6 months later the state shut the highway down for construction and detoured all the traffic away from my business....I went bankrupt....so surrendering to His Will for my life is what I am referring to. I will be obedient to what He wants me to do and go where He wants me to go.

God is a good, good Father! All the time! :)….I am so full of joy and I have peace...and I am most certainly humble to do what He tells me to from now on...."FATHER KNOWS BEST!" is my new motto!

Waiting on God is a very difficult thing to do when your situation seems desperate....funny thing is it is only desperate in our mind not God's!...Thankfully through that long period on no income I was provided for.
