I'll beg your indulgence, or your forgiveness. It's become a habit of mine- something I'm compelled to do, something that springs to mind in song and verse when the Spirit sings to me, -the words spring to life. There is something about music that opens a gate to the inner. The words take on spiritual truth.

Thank you.
I do the same thing with music I like; associate it spiritually to myself. If it's mellow like Joni sings or uplifting and upbeat about life a message can be found!

Can I contact admin??
It is important.
Regards.

I didn't want your post to go unnoticed, but you might have difficulty getting Admin attention this way- with a single post in a random thread.

Instead, go to the Main Page and see which Staff Members (Moderators) are online at any given moment and reach out to any of them with a private message. Alternatively the Site Owner can be messaged by private message to @doughty but it's not entirely likely that you will get a quick response and you might not hear back at all.

If your question is related to some sort of technical problem- perhaps it can be answered by others, or you can post it in the Community Help Desk area of the Forum accessed from the Main Page also.

If it's about a dream you had-- Use this link-

Post your dreams here

We all have the advantage of knowing there are two perspectives from which to look at things.

We can consider the earthly images and see everything as physical. It's easy to do. Just look around you. Touch, feel, smell, taste, look, listen, hear.

And we can also look at things from a spiritual perspective. This isn't our natural course, because those things of spirit we cannot perceive with our senses in the way we experience the physical world. We have to learn to look at things from the spiritual perspective. We have to be trained and our lesson book is scripture which is filled with examples.

The trouble is this-- people read scripture and they read it considering only, or mostly- only the physical. They give scant attention to the spiritual reality and they dismiss those spiritual things as being references to physical things. In short-- they don't look up very often and when they do, the clouds get in the way and they see little or nothing. The sky becomes a mirror and they perceive only those things that are all around them as if in looking up it is simply a reflection of all below. That's not what 'on earth as it is in heaven' means.

On earth as it is in heaven, re: Joni Mitchell

Considering Mitchell's attitude towards religion in general, I think we have to
concede that she is in very grave danger of ending up on the wrong side of
things when she passes on. In other words; it might be a bit overly
optimistic to anticipate her music in Heaven: or anywhere else for that
matter as I'd imagine that folks languishing in the netherworld are never
allowed instruments for entertainment.

* Hell is bad enough for ordinary folk; it must be doubly miserable for
creative people: the poets, the painters, the sculptors, the architects, the
fashion designers, the authors, the choreographers, the gourmet cooks, the
engineers, the scientific geniuses, the explorers, et al.

God once told me to listen to music. Life's not enjoyable if you can't let it play.

we do? There are? Always take the third option, imo :)

My wife owns a quilt shop. Sure she sells tons of fabric, runs classes and all of that-- and she also sells what you or I might think of as accessories-- but quilters call these things 'notions."

The notions a quilter uses consist of all the supplies and tools that you need to make a quilt. Things like scissors, rulers, needles and thread- maybe patterns, a rotary cutter, pins and an iron-- and so on. If you want to make a quilt, you use these things to do it. You cut and snip and stitch together those bits of fabric employing your notions to accomplish the feat.

But what if you had different notions? What if you had the wrong notions? Like if you brought a hammer and a chisel and a vice, maybe some screwdrivers and some tin snips? Could you make a quilt? Maybe, but maybe not-- because you started with the wrong notions. If nothing else, the notions you begin with are going to inhibit and limit you to some degree.

And everybody comes to class with some notions. Not only that-- but it can be very difficult to get people to set their own notions aside, because our notions are very dear to us. Maybe they were handed down by someone we admire or respect... maybe from trusted sources or our parents--and so on. However-- starting with the wrong notions can get us off on the wrong foot. It can really mess us up.

Nice word play. :)

I appreciate that! It might be my only gift.

When I was a baby, my mom wanted to name me Arthur (she didn't, but she wanted to)---- And I always wished I could have been an Arthur- maybe a great Arthur, who wrote wonderful books. A word-smith. Accomplished at word play -- words play, swordplay.

Instead, alas-- I was born with a speech impediment.

I wrote and recorded a Christmas song two years ago. (2020) Link and lyrics below. Enjoy.

https://soundcloud.com/user-426611522%2Fgift-wrapped
Title: Gift-Wrapped
Track Time: 03:04
Tempo: 128 BPM

VS 1
Bethlehem Star - traveled afar
Magi following - knew what it was
no map, no compass - to know where they are
wise men drawn to - the advent for us

CHORUS
Salvation came gift-wrapped - in swaddling clothes
no shiny paper - no ribbons or bows
Savior of the world - with baby fingers and toes
Emmanuel - God with us - just as foretold

VS 2
shepherds watched - their flocks by night
glorious light - never seen such a sight
angels singing - glad tidings bringing
rejoice, rejoice - for the newborn king

CH

VS 3
lying in a manger - a child in danger
escaped to Egypt - just in time
walked the earth as a man - and everyone knows
he's coming again - to heal all his foes

CH / ENDING

Malachi 3:2
But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears?
For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.
