What renegade priest taught you it was okay to talk to people that way?
The same guy who said it was okay for YOU to call me "Dumbo".

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds . . .

well, the roman catholic church did their best to kill them all off
Kill WHO, exactly??
Show me some actual evidence for these "remnants" you're talking about - or simply admit that you have none.

pls, the selling of indulgences is based upon an assumption of OSAS lol
That's absolutely false.
Besides - WHO sold indulgences?? Certainly NOT the Catholic Church.

Study your history . . .

Boy - talk about denial.
Read carefully:

Matt. 5:13

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for ANYTHING except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

If you are saved and guaranteed eternity in Heaven - HOW can you be considered "no longer good for anything"??
This verse is absolutely about losing one's salvation. Remember - Rev. 21:27 tells us that NOTHING impure or imperfect can enter Heaven.
Wrong use of Matthew 5:13;
Catholics chase after this verse and it's always wrong
This verse talks about being disqualified for the prize.
This verse talks about castaways.
Read Matthew 22:1-14;
If you can understand it, you've got the true interpretation of Matthew 5:13;

John Tetzel: monk who sold indulgences in Germany in 1517 for Albert of Hohenzollern (a German noble) and Pope Leo X. That triggered Martin Luther's posting of the "95 Theses" in Wittenburg.

not that i expect the truth to slow you down any, but indulgences being sold by the RCC are a fact of life for everyone else on the planet, BoL

I'm shaking my head about your behaviour.

In Galatians 5, Paul lists a variety of sins:
"sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft;
hatred, discord, jealousy,
fits of rage, selfish ambition,
dissensions, factions and envy;
drunkenness, orgies, and the like" (v. 19-21).

Some of these are behavioral, some are attitudinal, but all of them are self-centered and stem from the sinful heart.

Does "Fits of Rage and Selfish Ambition" ring a bell for you, BOL?
Yup - every time I read an anti-Catholic post here.
As for me - I don't get angry - I simply expose falsehoods.

You guys crack me up. You tell lies all day long about the Catholic Church - then you call "angry" or "mean" because I hold you accountable to the truth.

There's only ONE part of that statement that is true.

John Tetzel sold indulgences - but NOT by the Pope's edict. He did this on his own.
It was an abuse - and NOT an order from the Church.

The Church has never sanctioned the sale of Indulgences and quickly condemned the practice once it came to light.

X. Indulgences

1471 The doctrine and practice of indulgences in the Church are closely linked to the effects of the sacrament of Penance.

What is an indulgence?

"An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the Church which, as the minister of redemption, dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints."81
"An indulgence is partial or plenary according as it removes either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin."82 Indulgences may be applied to the living or the dead.

Wrong, sparky.
"no longer good for ANYTHING" means no longer good for Heaven as well.

Rev. 21:27
proves this.

What's your point here?
I said that the Church never SOLD Indulgences.

Pay attention . . .

Best to get a Toddler Bible, since you can not comprehend Losing Salvation is possible when one never receives Salvation.
Thanks for dodging the question.
Now, how about answering it?

ONE more time:
Where does God say that you can NEVER lose your salvation??

the so-called one and only universal church that can't even keep their priests under control.
Oh - you mean the way your Protestant ministers are "under control"??
The way that this problem is FAR worse in your Protestant sects than in the Catholic Church??

Changing the subject is the final crefuge of the truly desperate.
If you can't have an intelligent discussion - just admit it and move on.
