Read up on your New Testament about the problems Apostle Paul had to deal with regarding Jewish converts to Christ. They constantly tried to bring believers back under bondage to the law...
Titus 1:7-16
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
10 For there are many disorderly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of sordid gain.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 This testimony is true: wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men that turn from the truth.
15 To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and to every good work reprobate.
Webster
Apostle Paul himself was Jewish, born of the tribe of Benjamin. But he gave a pretty harsh account about some of his Jewish brethren who converted to Jesus.
In Galatians, some of the Jewish converts were evidently spying in the bathrooms at the Gentile believers, to see if they were circumcised...
Gal 2:3-5
3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

That problem with Jewish converts began in Judea with those of the circumcision claiming the Gentiles must be circumcised and keep the law of Moses in order to be saved (See Acts 15). Some of those converts had come from the Pharisees (Acts 15:5). To this day, SDA stresses following many of the law traditions of the orthodox Jews, especially that of the sabbath day, some of them even going so far overboard that they almost try to put sabbath keeping over Faith on Jesus Christ. They also do not believe that Jesus of Nazareth is GOD having come in the flesh, even though the Matthew 1:23 Scripture declares that Jesus is "Emmanuel" (from Isaiah 7), which means "God with us" as written there in Matthew 1.
