You used an example of faith, and then contradicted your own example.16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. this is faith i am not saying go out unprotected and not think you will not get the virus.. God has given us wisdom .
faith and the times we live in at the present time.
What does this have to do with your own contradiction , after using an example of faith that was true ?if you have so much faith take off and walk the halls of the hospitals that are caring for the virus patients unprotected. in fact walk into a room take a deep breath lay hands on them no gloves then rub your face
Since the so-called 'authorities' have not told people the truth, about sickness, health, etc , where will you turn to find the truth ?Do Christians have a duty to obey the civil authorities?
Do Christians have a duty to care for others, particularly those who are vunerable?
o was hoping maybe something along faith in God and nor would i suggest taking faith and playing russian roulette with this virus
Yes.May I suggest you investigate how Christians behaved during plagues that struck ancient Rome?
Since the so-called 'authorities' have not told people the truth, about sickness, health, etc , where will you turn to find the truth ?
That is THE SAME MESSAGE the gestapo in nazi gemany told the soldiers when they slaughtered millions of innocents. As Christians we have a duty to obey the civil authorities. We only disobey when they order us to break God's laws.
We are not here to judge whether the government is telling the truth or not.
No it what Paul wrote in Romans about obeying the authorities, giving respect and paying taxes. That is THE SAME MESSAGE the gestapo in nazi gemany told the soldiers when they slaughtered millions of innocents.
That is THE SAME MESSAGE the gestapo in rome told the soldiers when they slaughtered cities and towns full of even their own people.
Rather, in line with God's Word, find out HOW the true believers in the past, were not affected by the plagues, when that was so.not even worth a reply
You would think so, huh? But the way you put it, the way you defend the error of the politicians, is wrong, and is NOT God's direction anywhere. No it what Paul wrote in Romans about obeying the authorities, giving respect and paying taxes.
The early Church was scattered due to persecution (they weren't fearless). Relief efforts were made for the famine victims in Jerusalem (they weren't impervious to suffering). Many martyrs died (although glorifying to Jesus, still untimely and unfortunate). Many Christians died from plagues, robbers, jihads, drunk drivers, accidents, etc...You used an example of faith, and then contradicted your own example.
What "protection" did those three men have against the furnace ? THey knew not whether God would protect them or not -
and they said even if we die, we will not deny God.
The viruses? Why worry? Oh, yes: "For lack of knowledge" >> even God's People Perish for this.
So gain knowledge. Do not remain without knowledge. Find out what the Jews did during the famous black plague in Europe, and their homes , their families , were spared. Find out what Linus Pauling got a Nobel Prize for. Find out what hospitals in New York, and clinics in Europe, and hospitals in western China, have published effective against viruses.
Trust Jesus . Follow Jesus, no matter where He leads.
Online , free, pdf format: Foxes Book of Martyrs. (this is just for examples of true believers, in line with all the true believers in Scripture.....)(they weren't fearless)
I don't remember posting about people risking their lives .... that is telling people to risk their lives.... would you quote what you are referring to ?Joseph, if you are going to tell people to risk their lives, you better tell them how, rather than just saying 'have faith'. God does not want us tempting Him either.
Well, most on this site, are familiar with these rather famous Christians?Online , free, pdf format: Foxes Book of Martyrs. (this is just for examples of true believers, in line with all the true believers in Scripture.....)
Since most people have not seen them, it is very awkward at best referring to them in a way that can be understood by the hearers, and then only if the hearers are willing (seeking God's Kingdom).
"familiar with the MARTYRS" ? I don't think so. Most people who call themselves Christian live as if they won't even have to suffer much for Christ's sake !Well, most on this site, are familiar with these rather famous Christians?
You got me there! ...but, I just meant many faithful men died due to persecution. Their faith, didn't necessarily protect them. Complicated I know, but the thousands under Nero, Domitian, Decius, Diocletion, Bloody Mary, Huegenots, Ottoman Empire... Some, I'm sure, would have preferred not to die (they weren't even asked to recant).I'm almost positive all the martyrs died.
:)
