Many westernized believers saved by Grace are subtlety encouraged to believe that everything will be done for them." It is finished". But it's quite another thing to enter into the finished work. Grace is opposed to earning, but not opposed to effort. If God desires anything at all it's mature sons and daughters reflecting His attributes in this fallen world. When will we understand that the lost are tired of looking at us, they want to see Jesus! That requires effort. To glorify means to make someone known. Jesus glorified the Father, made Him known. We try to lure them with all sorts gimmicks, come to the revival that's just another service and another opportunity to grab some money. Most can't tell the difference between us and themselves! Grace is Divine enablement, no effort, no enabling.

Amen! You are referring to the "cheap grace" that spoils rather than sanctifies. But the carnal man seeks to be saved and will twist the word so as to please the flesh.

But as you say...grace is a divine enabling...an enablement to get on with conquering the self and then the world for Christ.

Jesus said, "My yoke is easy, my burden light". As long as we're putting forth effort, we're the one's putting forth the effort. Jesus said, "Deny yourself". This is not Jesus' way of saying that we all need to deny ourselves of the things in this world that we're meant to enjoy. This is Jesus telling us to get rid of the self, itself. This world isn't meant for the self. It is meant for God. God's laws are a burden to the self; they are not a burden to God. Get rid of yourself, keep the law.
