I feel like God has been dealing with me a lot, About becoming a Pastor,it is really scary thought knowing I have to give up a lot to full fill this!!! I am very young and it is weird,I use to be far from God,and came super close to him,and it is just weird about why he would pick me ya know?I am only 14 and he is dealing with me this early!!!,And I am not even that perfect/I sin but I try not to!!! I was just wondering if any one has had a calling to be a pastor/missionary and what that did!!!I know I have the potential of being one and I want to preach the gospel!!!But it scary!!!I need to pray more about this!!ray3:Thanks!

The church where I go to. Our pastor is now over 70 years of age and he is absolutely amazing for his age, so full on God , energetic. He has established many churches, people want him to come to preach to their churches. He has travelled in many different countries, preaching. I hope this would encourage you... Our pastor has said that He was about 14 years of age and he just knew, he just knew, he just knew that he was called to be a preacher. And he has been all these years. I encourage you, it does not matter what age you are, just pray and be obedient to God what he tells you to do, don't worry what people say about it, If it's God's calling for your life, nothing can be against it. You might get setbacks, attacks etc... but don't give up. Don't look right or left, or compare yourself to others, just study God's word and He will lead you and guide you, He is faithful.Be Blessed,Thunder1

You don't have to give up that much to be a pastor. >.>You assign someone to be in charge of the finances, someone else for events, someone else for problems etc.All you have to do is tell people what God is telling you to tell them. :$

Youthfulness is no problem -"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity" (1 Tim 4:12) And even the young Jeremiah was scared when he got the call from God -"Lord i'm no good at speaking, i'm too young and people won't take me seriously" (Jer 1:6) In fact others too were just ordinary people, for example Paul didn't impress everybody -"For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful, but his appearance is unimpressive, and he speaks poorly" (2 Cor 10:10) And Moses admitted to being unable to think on his feet- "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, i'm slow of speech and tongue." (Exodus 4:10) And Jonah was so scared he refused pointblank to be a prophet and jumped on a ship to escape, bad call - "Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish." (Jonah 1:3) On the other hand, some people like David Livingstone were so raring to go and get stuck into missionary work that he could barely wait to be ordained - "Ordination is unimportant to me"..

I have the same calling and had the same worries. He drafted me at age 13 and two years later while I have seem remarkable changes. also see weaknesses which I don't know how to deal withand truthfully I don't see myself becoming a pastorbut we need to put ourself in hands of God. I am 16, and just a few months ago, probably about september I was sitting in my room one night watching TV. There was this show on TBN where cameras followed two missionaries in the tribal areas of Africa. And the minute I saw this show I KNEW that I was suppost to become a missionary and later a preacher. I just knew it. I have already looked at different seminary schools here in Texas and I know what I'm going to do. Since I knew I wanted to become a missionary the only place I could think about doing my mission work was in China, I know its a dangerous place for christians but I believe God is calling me their. And I know that they are not allowing missionaries into China right now but I am getting in their by any means possible. If you are suppost to be a preacher you will know it. And don't worry about being to young, it just gives you more time to study God's word to prepare you for your future. And if you feel like your not good enough for the job, then just pray. God wouldn't ask you to do something that was beyond your ability. Satan is putting doubt into your heart trying to destract you from God but you can overcome him!

WOW!!!!!I don't know if this is the same in other parts of christiantiy but in the catholic church we are going into a huge shortage of priest. I can imagine it is the same for many other churches. and right here in this board, we have 3 youths going into Gods ministry.Its amazing how God provides!!!!!

Awesome post LGF!!!!God is in such need of pastors of truth for far to long men have put fast food religion and lies of men ahead of Gods Wordsbecause they are easy their words are geared to collect the money not tell the truth its more difficult to explain some of Gods deeper truths but one must learn them to teach the Lords sheep We are told the least will become the greatest so I dont think age means anything remember Mary was only about 16 ALL Wisdom is from God no age requirement hereI just like this videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1HcfFqX_14
