Previous photo:

Cottonwood House is one of the last remaining roadhouses in British Columbia. It was built in the 1860’s to offer accommodation, meals and provisions to miners and travellers on their journey along the Cariboo ‘Waggon’ Road to Barkerville or Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada
Interesting name; I wonder if it has something to do with the cotton trade?

The mans a very good photographer

I read on here somewhere that he lost his wife suddenly. Very sad. A rock fall hit their car.
His post is earlier on in this thread if you want to scroll many pages back. . It seems he used to post a lot on here Over 2000 posts, but not now after his wife died it seems. Sad indeed. :(
God bless him.

My son-in-law is not home yet...but his hobby is fishing trips.
He just sent this photo last night.
Can't wait to hear this "Fish Story"

It weighs in at 256 lbs by measurement - it took 90 minutes landing it - Alan was doing some pretty hard pulling too!! I have never heard the name...but it is called a Tarpon. I am sure it was a catch and release... :)
A long trip to get there....but this was the icing....

Yikes that's quite the fishy! I have some hunter/fisher brothers and, I haven't seen anything near that large from Lake Erie, lol. Although they do drive out to different lakes and such. His fish story can't get much "bigger" than this fish, lol!!! I keep calling him your son, sorry...SIL!!! ♥

Like I said to Pat, he does it to relax from his high stress job as a surgeon.
Many doctors fish to relax...I think they'd go nuts if they didn't LOL

I read that in Nicaragua there is a huge lake with ocean fish - associated with salt water - that now live in fresh water.

Each to his own. I wasn't being critical Helen, it's something that many people enjoy. It's just not for me. xx

GHOTI spells 'fish'

GH as in 'enough'
O as in 'women'
TI as in 'station'.

So: GHOTI

There is - or was - a band called GHOTI HOOKS...
