A judgment seat (Greek βημα) is a raised platform upon which a judge would sit and render a decision/judgment.

The Bible indicates all believes will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account (2Corinthians 5:10, Romans 14:10-12). No condemnation for believers, Jesus paid the penalty (Romans 5:1).

He is not sitting in final judgment of all as He will at the end of this age when He returns.

You haven't proven what you allege here. The final judgment (GWTJ) tells us one the DEAD shall be judged when Christ returns. The born again righteous believers will not be judged at the GWT because we have already been judged in life, and when we stand at the right hand of Christ one judgment DAY (one) believers will already have been changed from mortal to immortal and corruptible to incorruptible body! (as I've already shown you)

Revelation 20:11, "the dead, great and small" is inclusive of everyone, believer and unbeliever alike.

NO! This too you haven't proven! This is what you believe, but to accept this opinion we must say those who are already ETERNALLY ALIVE in Christ, are among the DEAD! They are NOT! The are the living, even AFTER physical death.

Right, the born again not condemned. Exactly as I have said.

The righteous born-again Christians are not condemned because we shall not be counted with THE DEAD! We will be on the right hand to hear Christ say:

Mt 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

We are on the right because in life born again believers have already been judged through the righteousness of Christ by His Spirit in us!

Certainly not to insult your intelligence, RWB, but I say you misunderstand that, my friend.

You might believe that I misunderstand, but it is YOU, not I who cannot biblically prove what you allege. He who alleges MUST prove if you wish to be taken seriously! Otherwise, your opinions are without the authority of Scripture.

Again, not to insult your intelligence, RWB, but I say you're conflating two very different things. We will stand before Christ ~ on His right ~ in the white throne judgment of Revelation 20, as depicted by Jesus in Matthew 25. And we in the congregation of the righteous will stand in this final judgment, whereas the wicked will not, as David says in Psalm 1.

As I've said, you make no distinction between the judgment seat of Christ the church must endure in this life, and the great white throne judgment for the DEAD that shall be when Christ comes again.

You say the wicked will not stand in the final judgment? Who are the DEAD being judged and cast into the eternal flames if not the wicked?

Psalm 1 shows us why the wicked will not stand with the righteous, (at the right hand of Christ) at the judgment because they shall all perish, as ungodly, like the chaff which the wind drives away! We know from what is written the DEAD (never born again) will be there at His left hand.

Ps 1:1 ¶ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Ps 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Ps 1:4 ¶ The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Ps 1:5
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Ps 1:6
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Perhaps you might want to consider whether or not your own intelligence on this topic might need adjustment?

Exactly! The judgment seat of Christ if for the church, not condemnation, but more for training in righteousness, and the great white throne that shall be when Christ comes again shall be for condemnation of the DEAD which is for whosoever in life have never been born again.

You haven't proven what you allege here.
Okay, yeah, in your opinion. Fine. And I say the same to you, and you may call that my opinion; I have no problem with that.

The final judgment (GWTJ) tells us one the DEAD shall be judged when Christ returns. The born again righteous believers will not be judged at the GWT because we have already been judged in life...
I mean I understand; you've said this many times. I disagree. Again, the issue seems to be that you think John's "the dead, great and small" is in the same context, and therefore means the same group of folks, as those who Paul says are "dead in their trespasses" and thus "children of wrath" in Ephesians 2, and I say that is absolutely not the case.

, and when we stand at the right hand of Christ one judgment DAY (one) believers will already have been changed from mortal to immortal and corruptible to incorruptible body!
I don't disagree with that, actually, RWB, which I've said before, but what you say here is very different than the one point of disagreement here between us, which is whether or not believers will be judged in the final Judgment or not.

Yes. You know, I'm really not sure why this is making you so angry, RWB, but there is really no need for such... vehemence... Yes, again, in Revelation 20:11, "the dead, great and small" is inclusive of everyone, believer and unbeliever alike. And I cited several corroborating Scriptures in support of this in previous post (posts 67, 69, and 71, to be specific). You disagree. Well, okay. That's okay. It is. It's okay. <smile> It really is okay.

...to accept this opinion we must say those who are already ETERNALLY ALIVE in Christ, are among the DEAD!
In John's context in Revelation 20, we are. John's context regarding "the dead, great and small" is not the same as Paul's in Ephesians 2, as I have said. You disagree. Well, okay.

They are NOT! The are the living, even AFTER physical death.
Um... this is a rhetorical question, RWB, meant really to get you to think about what you are being so... well, so adamant about... The saints who, up to this point in time now... and us, if we pass before Jesus returns... are they living, or are they dead? You may have to think about that quite a while... <smile> I would submit to you that the answer is... yes... <smile>

The righteous born-again Christians are not condemned because we shall not be counted with THE DEAD!
Well, because we will not be ~ and are no longer, even now ~ dead in our trespasses, but alive in Christ. But we will be among "the dead, great and small," in the context of Revelation 20:11.

We are on the right...
Agreed; never said anything to the contrary... But in saying that to us ~ actually in saying "Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me" ...what will Christ, in saying this to us, then be actually doing? And why? According to what? <smile>

because in life born again believers have already been judged through the righteousness of Christ by His Spirit in us!
Declared. Not judged. Declared. By God. Paul says it... "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God..." (Romans 5:8-9). It's Jesus's righteousness that has been imputed to us by God's declaration, and this is His mercy and compassion, His grace, given to us. And so, again... "God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ ~ by grace you have been saved ~ and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast..."

You might believe that I misunderstand, but it is YOU, not I who cannot biblically prove what you allege.
<eye roll> We disagree.

As I've said, you make no distinction between the judgment seat of Christ the church must endure in this life, and the great white throne judgment for the DEAD that shall be when Christ comes again.
Actually, I would say I do, and you do not, RWB. I think I've made that abundantly clear in at least two or three posts now, especially my last one.

You say the wicked will not stand in the final judgment?
They will not stand in the sense that they will... fail... be judged negatively, shall we say... in the final judgment. As David says in Psalm 1, "Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." Even in this, we should be able to see the strong insinuation that even we who are in Christ and not among the wicked are very present in this final Judgment... and that we will also be judged... we will be judged first, and we see that in Matthew 25... but we will stand on Christ's merit rather than our own, because, yes, we are not ~ even since our having been born again of the Spirit ~ and we will not then be... dead in our sin.

Who are the DEAD being judged and cast into the eternal flames if not the wicked?
Right, but in the context of John's vision there in Revelation 20, this is not all "the dead, great and small," but only a portion of them.

Psalm 1 shows us why the wicked will not stand with the righteous,
Well yes, it does, but that's a different statement than the wicked not standing in the Judgment. See above.

We know from what is written the DEAD (never born again) will be there at His left hand.
And I say again that you are understanding the "dead, great and small" in a very different context than what it is there in John's Revelation in Revelation 20:11. There are places in the Bible, for sure, where the dead are referred to in the context you are insisting upon for Revelation 20:11, like Ephesians 2:1-3. But you are conflating the two, RWB. And as I say, certainly you may call that my opinion if you like, but it is what it is.

Another poster cited Hebrews 9:27 above... "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." I mean, yeah, there it is...

You know, it's enough, man. Really. There's no need to keep going back and forth about this. It is enough.

Perhaps you might want to consider whether or not your own intelligence on this topic might need adjustment?
<chuckles>

You can say anything you want, problem is saying is not proving what you allege. You cannot prove the DEAD include those who have eternal life because it is not true.

which is whether or not believers will be judged in the final Judgment or not.

All who have been born again already have ALL of their sins forgiven and already have ETERNAL life from the moment they believe! That's why they shall not be among the DEAD who must give account for their lives according to what is written in the books and the book of life.

Yes. You know, I'm really not sure why this is making you so angry, RWB, but there is really no need for such... vehemence...

I'm not angry at all, I only use apostrophes to drive home a point!!! Vehemence? Not at all. It seems you're the one who cannot let go of doctrine you cannot biblically prove, and it appears to be getting a little bit under your skin. That's why the smiles, chuckles and rolling of the eyes.

Revelation 20:11, "the dead, great and small" is inclusive of everyone, believer and unbeliever alike.

You can continue to repeat this again, and again, but saying something is not proving from the Bible that the righteous in Christ will stand with the DEAD to give account of their lives even though they have already been forgiven through the righteousness of Christ, and even though they already possess eternal life, and even though they are already changed from mortal/corruptible flesh to immortal/incorruptible flesh fit to live with Christ on the new earth forevermore. What exactly do you believe born again Christians will be judged for?

...what will Christ, in saying this to us, then be actually doing? And why? According to what?

At the great white throne born again believers at the right hand of God are not judged with the DEAD. Why? Because that's when we will receive the blessed REWARD (single) of immortal/incorruptible everlasting life, inheriting the Kingdom of God on the new earth that is promised to whosoever has been born again. Christ isn't judging the good things we have done in life. No, He is simply demonstrating how our lives displayed the righteousness of Christ in us, against the unrighteousness of those who in life were never born again of Christ's Spirit. The righteous never even realized the good things they did through the Spirit of Christ in them, while the unrighteous believed they could be eternally saved by their own works. The dead won't realize even the good men do in unbelief are counted but filthy rags to God apart from Christ in you.

Declared. Not judged. Declared.

Are you saying that God's grace through imputation of faith is not enough to eternally save man? Do you think believers must prove themselves worthy of God grace through faith by doing good? Is that how you view the grace of God?

Revelation 20, this is not all "the dead, great and small," but only a portion of them.

Again, you repeat this without proving what you allege! The passage is abundantly clear, only the DEAD are called to give account before the great white throne of God. ALL of the DEAD will be judged, those who in life were great as well as those who in life appear small, all the dead nonetheless shall stand before the great white thro to give account according to what is found written in the books and the book of life. That's why John writes of seeing only the DEAD! Only the dead shall be judged at the great white throne according to THEIR works. Nothing about the works of the righteous saved body of Christ.

Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
Revelation 20:13 (KJV) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Another poster cited Hebrews 9:27 above... "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." I mean, yeah, there it is...

This is a true statement. Evey man is appointed to physical death, and for those who die in unbelief, the next thing they will know when they are called from the grave is the great white throne judgment. But not true for the many who Christ offered His life to bear their sins. Why? Because believers have passed from death to life the moment, we believe on Him and have been born again. When we physically die after having been born again, we are still alive with Christ in heaven the spiritual body of Christ as living souls. Knowing this, Paul longed for the day when he would be absent from his physical body of flesh that he would be present with Christ in heaven. Believers no longer fear death, nor the GWTJ, because all of our sins have been forgiven and the life we possess when we have been born again shall NEVER die.

Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Heb 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Heb 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

John 5:24 (KJV)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

You know, it's enough, man. Really. There's no need to keep going back and forth about this. It is enough.

Yes, I agree, it is enough. It's clear by now that you cannot biblically prove what you allege, nor have you been able to prove from the Bible that I have not biblically shown why only the DEAD shall be judged before the GWT according to what is written in the books and the book of life. I've also shown how we should make a distinction between the judgment seat of Christ for the body of Christ in this life, and the GWTJ for the DEAD when Christ shall come again.

As I've already said, the judgment seat of Christ in this life is not unto condemnation but is for helping the body of Christ to be trained/grow in faith and righteousness. But the GWTJ is unto condemnation for the DEAD, which are those who have never been made alive in Christ.

…I’ll go ahead with a few more details. Those who go through the First Resurrection when Jesus returns at the 7th trump will not be judged. They have already been awarded eternal life.

Right...

Uh-oh, maybe you should have stopped... <smile>

Those who go through the First Resurrection when Jesus returns at the 7th trump will not be judged.
That's... not the first resurrection. <smile> The first physical resurrection, of course, is Jesus's, and Christians, in being born again and raised to the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, come to share in it (Revelation 20:5). This is our first resurrection, individual to each of us and spiritual in nature, wherein we are raised from death in sin to life in Christ (Ephesians 2). The physical resurrection will occur when Jesus returns, and it is the second resurrection, and it is general. All will be resurrected in this way, but there will be... two very different things to which people will be resurrected ~ as Jesus says in John 5:28-29 ~ "...an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment."

They have already been awarded eternal life.
I mean this is true... We have eternal life now; we are absolutely assured of it. But eternity, the age to come, is not yet here, so in that sense we do not have it yet. This simultaneous now-ness and not-yet-ness can be applied to many things, even to salvation itself, but yes, eternal life is one of them.

Grace and peace to you, Sel@h.

You can say anything you want...
Okay, as can you...

...problem is saying is not proving what you allege.
But that's only your opinion. You don't accept as proof what I have offered. And that's fair enough.

You cannot prove the DEAD include those who have eternal life because it is not true.
Well, I can and did, as I said, but you don't accept it. Fair enough. But it does seem that you would take what I did offer (in several preceding posts) and state just why you don't believe those things to be adequate reasoning or proof. But you have not done that. So, yeah, you can say anything you want, but-tuhhh... <smile>

All who have been born again already have ALL of their sins forgiven and already have ETERNAL life from the moment they believe!
Sure. Not sure why you feel compelled to say this. I certainly have not said or insinuated otherwise.

That's why they shall not be among the DEAD who must give account for their lives according to what is written in the books and the book of life.
Hmmmm, well again, "the dead, great and small..." <smile> Another rhetorical question for you, RWB: why would the book of life even be mentioned there in Revelation 20:12, much less be opened? <smile> Do you think maybe Jesus has forgotten that the names of those who are dead ~ in the sense that you understand "dead" there ~ are not and were never in the book of life?

I'm not angry at all, I only use apostrophes to drive home a point!!! Vehemence? Not at all.
Fine. <smile> Yeah, I really don't care one way or the other... !!! <chuckles>

It seems you're the one who cannot let go of doctrine you cannot biblically prove, and it appears to be getting a little bit under your skin.
<chuckles> No, I'm just a little, oh, surprised, at your, um, recalcitrance. <smile>

That's why the smiles, chuckles and rolling of the eyes.
Ah, well now you're foisting emotions on me. Hmmmm. No, I've said before to another poster or two that I do that to add a little... oh, levity, to what I'm saying... to try to express some good-natured winsomeness, and maybe a little humor here and there. I mean in such a venue, there's pretty much no non-verbal language conveyed, and things are easily misunderstood and can come across very negatively and even mean. I often try to head that off with those expressions, and sometimes GIFs. That's all.

You can continue to repeat this again, and again....
As can you.

...but saying something is not proving from the Bible that the righteous in Christ will stand with the DEAD to give account of their lives...
But I didn't just "say something," did I, RWB? No, I didn't. You just don't accept the many Biblical references I have made to back up what I have said, and again, fair enough, but, yeah, that's not on me.

What exactly do you believe born again Christians will be judged for?
Again:

"He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, He will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury" (Paul, Romans 2:6-8)

"...we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." (Paul, 2 Corinthians 13:7;

"...just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him" (Hebrews 9:27-28).

Yes, I agree, it is enough.
Good. <smile>

<chuckles> <siiiiiiigh> <smile> What's abundantly clear is that, at least on what we've been talking about, neither of us will accept the Biblical proof that the other is offering. The three short passages immediately above should be more than enough. But so be it. Fair enough.

As I've already said, the judgment seat of Christ in this life is not unto condemnation but is for helping the body of Christ to be trained/grow in faith and righteousness.
For believers, yes, and I have, too. But this is not the judgment seat of Christ. He is seated at the right hand of God right now, for sure, and He is making constant intercession for us. But the final Judgment will not be executed and rendered until He returns.

But the GWTJ is unto condemnation for the DEAD, which are those who have never been made alive in Christ.
It is final condemnation, yes ~ and consignment to eternal punishment, under God's eternal judgment; this is the second death ~ for those not in Christ and remaining dead in their sins. But again, this is not the only group of folks coming under the heading of "the dead, great and small" (Revelation 20:11). What you are saying about this is contrary to the context of Revelation 20:11-15. As John goes on to relate in his vision in verses 12 and 13, "...the dead, great and small, (are) standing before the throne, and books (are) opened. Then another book (is) opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done." To not see the all-inclusiveness here is really a bit incredulous. All are judged. But only some will have been resurrected to eternal life, and the others will have been resurrected to judgment (John 5:28-29) and will experience ~ for eternity ~ the second death. And again, we see all this graphically depicted by Christ in Matthew 25:31-46... all will be judged according to what they have done, again, just as Paul says in Romans 2:6-8.

But again, you just don't accept any of that, or most of it, at least. Fair enough.

Grace and peace to you, RWB.

It is true we aren't saved by our works. But we are judged by them.
Just like a common criminal in a court of law. The judge views the evidence against the condemned, and decides his guilt or innocence based on the evidence. Because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, all are saved by grace. Yet only those whose works testify to grace working in the life, are judged accordingly.

I agree, I don't see it as a silly question, but I think a follow up question could be beneficial. That question would be what is the difference, if any difference, between the judgment seat of Christ directed to the church, and the great white throne judgment directed to the dead?

That's a good question.
Unfortunately I don't know the answer to it.

I believe believers will be judged on what they have done, but only to the reward in heaven, because they are not judged to salvation because faith in Christ has saved them from that judgement.
John 5:
24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.

28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Verse 28 is interesting because it mirrors Matthew 25:31-. Jesus separates all the nations but refers them to whatever they did or didn't do for His brethren (adelphos) Who are these brethren of His?
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers (adelphos) stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers (adelphos) are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers (adelphos)?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers (adelphos). 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Pointing to His disciples Jesus says these are His brothers (adelphos).

We, the "church,' are being judged by those who live around us because we do not live up to our own exaggerated hype.
In other words, they see our hypocrisy.
One man put it something like this…we are not sufficiently transformed so as to make men think we actually believe what we say we do.
