The argument basically faced by these lawyers is there is not a case to answer.
It is embarrasing saying no to a client, but being frivolous in front of a judge shows legal incompetence.
The point about court is to put forward a case that will lead to potential prosecutions of alleged criminals who have behaved in a illegal way.
It is an argument of words, where a judge will determine there is a case to answer. Its like a child getting parents to submit their homework to the teacher and its a blank piece of paper. Who is the bigger fool, the child or the parents? The truth will come out.
No one really thought anyone would be this stupid. It is like liars who believe their own lie. Yes reports will play on the impression and the statement of what is likely to come out, except when it falls at the first hurdle, it is just a joke, and more than that destroying of peoples reputations.

Yes the emotional feeling is this is the worst scandal for decades, except when other authorities say actually this is the best and most secure election ever held. A fox news anchor said the whole press would never be trusted again. The problem is with this kind of language, the more extreme you do the bigger the coffin you are making.
One case with election changing implications needs to stand up. Yes machines can be switched, lorry loads of votes could be shipped in, whole areas be bought off, in theory, but you need to show it or it is just speculation and slander.
There are some very emotive subjects being used by people, abortion for one, Covid for another, which have their points. But most of this is tragic and a terrible waste of life, which in a time of crisis should humble ourselves in prayer and grieving.
