Some do not have the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I can accept the deity of Christ to a point, but that would take some explaining. I certainly don't accept the trinitarian view that he is equal to the Father.

Well I'm not a Pentecostal. So it depends what you mean? Do I believe the Holy Spirit is the same person as Jesus and God. Absolutely not. I have the holy spirit in the same measure most people do who confess Christ as their Savior.

Welcome MSL....an open mind and a person that loves to search scripture....not to start off a liiitle neg although I am just adding on to your words.

You will find many here that are pots themselves, calling kettles black. Many do not allow scripture to interpret itself. And many do not understand the scripture under study. They add in scripture from other areas to fit their theories including the trinity concept. It does become quite chaotic at times.

    Bless you,

    APAK

Jeremiah 29:13 is an excellent verse to hearken and heed to.

Well if Jesus is Gods word, which proceedeth forth from Gods mouth, dont you think His word should be equal to Him...

Glad to see I'm on your mind even when I am not involved in the conversation. Your always thinking of me and @BreadOfLife .......it's so cute.....

What do you mean by "scripture interpreting itself" when referring to us Catholics?

    Jesus said,

"Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."

Jesus speaks what the Father wants him to speak. If he was equal to God, he would not have said,

"Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."

"My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

Yes, Jesus emptied Himself of the attributes of Deity so that He could be our perfect example of what it means to be obedient through dependence on the Holy Spirit. He became a Man; and in taking on the nature of human flesh He submitted Himself to finite boundaries of limitation as a human being.

Yes, Jesus was equal with God, according to the testimony of John under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (John 5:18).

It is a doctrine called the hypostatic union. Jesus was, and is, 100% God and 100% Man, He is the Son of man and He is the Son of God. In His Deity He is equal to the Father (you might even see me posit that He is the Father); but in His humanity He is less than the Father, since He is confined to a human body and therefore could not retain either Omniscience nor Omnipresence: and He also emptied Himself of His Omnipotence in that every miracle He did, He did in reliance on the Father and did nothing in His own strength; in order that He might set an example for us on how to live the Christian life.

Interesting that you left out the context of that, John 10:30.

    Show me the context.

I believe Jesus when he said the Father is greater. I believe him when he said he doesn't know the day or hour of his return. I believe him when he says he can do nothing on his own. I also believe him when he said blasphemy against him will be forgiven but blasphemy against the holy spirit will not. If they were the same person blasphemy against one would be blasphemy against the other. Other issues I have with Trinity is IF the holy spirit is a separate person "why doesn't the holy spirit have a name, and why isn't he found in or around the Throne of God?"

I can tell you why. The Holy Spirit IS the Seven Spirits of God.
It's incoherent to say Jesus is 100% God and 100% man.

Saying Jesus is God plays right up into the hands of Atheism. We know God cannot be tempted and He cannot sin. That means that Jesus could not have been tempted or sinned anyway making Jesus a fraud and the cross a hoax to no effect.

Well it seems that the pharisees always get upset,

Joh_5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

That is only because if I need to explain how rotten religion is you and our SDA friends are prime examples of the abomination men have created, this little part, which may well be , according to your won words, well above your own understanding..

    Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
    Act 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

    and again

Act 7:47 But Solomon built him an house.
Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Act 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
Act 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
Act 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

    such is teh religious.

The Pharisees believed that because Jesus said God was his Father, to them, that made him equal to God. Jesus never said he was God, never said he was equal to God, and he is never called God the son.

    I don't believe the Pharisees.

After the Pharisees said that, that's when Jesus rebuked them and replied...

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Jesus uses the word Father 14 times in Chapter 5. Over and over again in the NT he proves his subordination to the Father.

Yep and yet here you say Gods word ids not equal to God, so by your own words, you are saying that once Gods word leaves His mouth they become worthless...

To say Jesus is equal to God has an overwhelming number of contradiction problems. I go with the least contradictory interpretation. There is no such thing as a Trinity. Triads of Gods existed in several cultures. The Babylonians, Sumerians, Hindu's and others had triads of Gods. Christianity just followed suit!

Trinity is a doctrine devised by the Catholic's in the 3-4th century that the Protestants adopted.
It's actually one of the most divisive doctrines in this debacled religion.
