"But we do have hope of the resurrection when the dead will be resurrected back to life. John 5: 28 Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come out—those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of judgment."

I think this quote was from a reply that I made to Selene. So it wasn't something that she said but what I had said in trying to explain what I thought the condition and state of the dead is. I was trying to say that a time is coming, but is not yet, when the dead would be raised back to life in the resurrection.

Hello Truthquest,

We also believe in the resurrection of the dead and that the bodies will be reunited with their souls. We believe that it will take place during Christ's second coming. Just as Christ resurrect in body and soul, so will mankind's body also resurrect and be reunited with its soul in Heaven. It had always been the living souls in Heaven that we speak to, not the dead bodies on the earth.

In Christ,
Selene

I guess I am confused because you seem to be saying that the resurrection is for dead bodies and not souls? The bodies don't matter, in my opinion, because that is not who we really are. It is my understanding that flesh and blood (bodies) cannot enter heaven. As I said before, I believe that the dead,( and I am not speaking of dead bodies), are not conscious or aware.
[sup] 1Cor. 15: 50[/sup] Brothers, I tell you this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and corruption cannot inherit incorruption. [sup]51[/sup] Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,

[sup]52[/sup] in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. [sup][/sup]

For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,

and we will be changed.

[sup]53[/sup] Because this corruptible must be clothed [sup][/sup] with incorruptibility, [sup][/sup]

and this mortal must be clothed with immortality.

[sup]54[/sup] Now when this corruptible is clothed with incorruptibility,

and this mortal is clothed with immortality,

then the saying that is written will take place:

Death has been swallowed up in victory.

[sup]42[/sup] So it is with the resurrection of the dead: Sown in corruption, raised in incorruption;[sup][/sup]

[sup]43[/sup] sown in dishonor,[sup][/sup] raised in glory;[sup][/sup]

sown in weakness, raised in power; [sup][/sup]

[sup]44[/sup] sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body.

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

Hello Truthquest,

For us, both body and soul matters. We believe that the body and soul are one just as Christ's body and soul are one. When Christ rose from the dead, He was resurrected in both body and soul. We believe that during the resurrection of the dead, our bodies in the earth will change just as St. Paul says (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Our bodies will be modeled after Christ - a glorified body, which can enter heaven. Christ resurrected in body and spirit, but His body was also changed. It is not the same as the earthly body when He was walking the earth.

Christ was able to ascend into Heaven in both body and soul. During the resurrection of the dead, the bodies of those who have died will also enter Heaven and be reunited with their living souls in Heaven. Flesh and blood from the earth cannot enter Heaven, but a glorified or heavenly body can. This glorified body is what St. Paul referred to the spiritual body (See 1 Corinthians 15:40-44). This is how we interpret that Scripture.

In Christ,
Selene

The bread and wine of the Lord's Supper does not literally turn into the real blood and flesh of Jesus. But when believer's eat the Lord's Supper, we are to eat and drink as if it is the Lord's blood and flesh. We are not to just take it lightly and sinfully, as the people did in the Bible when they ate not caring if the poor ate first, and when they drank they got drunk!
Jesus said to eat and drink of the bread and wine in remembrance of him. Jesus' blood and flesh were given at the cross, his blood was shed on the cross one time, one time for all. When we believe in Jesus, we come through the blood of the Lamb, who takes away our sins. When we come to Jesus in faith, in believing in him.....when we do this we are drinking from his blood. When we obey Jesus, we obey his word, Jesus is the Word. When we obey the Word, we are eating the Word...the Word which is the bread. This is how we eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus. The blood of a New Covenant, the blood Jesus shed for us on the cross. When we eat the bread and drink the wine of the Lord's Supper...we do this in remembrance of Jesus and proclaim his coming.

Coming to Jesus in faith...in believing him and obeying him, this is spiritual. And this spiritual life given by the Spirit of God and Jesus, this Holy Spirit gives life to our spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives life to spirit. That which is flesh dies, but the spirit does not die, the spirit of a person made alive by the Spirit of God lives forever with God. When we come to God through Jesus, we are now reconciled to God. Our spirits are alive with the Lord, because of the Lord. Our spirits are no longer separated from God, nor do the spirits reconcilled to God go to a place away from God, nor to a prison or hell.

If anyone would like scriptures to what I said here....I will gladly give them.

Many people ask why do we get a body if we are alive in the spirit. We loose our bodies because of Satan. So do you not think we should get back what Satan takes? We not only will get back what Satan takes, but we will get back any even better body, and a body that will never die. We, as children of God wait for the redemption of our bodies. When Jesus raised from the dead, Jesus conquered death, Jesus took the power away from the one who had power over death....the devil. God, the Father has put everything under Jesus, but at this time since all still die...we do not see everything put under Jesus yet, but we will see this---at the resurrection. At the resurrection we will receive our bodies, yet a better body. At the resurrection our spirits will be united with our new spiritual body. Those who are in the Lord will live to eternal life on a new Earth with God and Jesus living on the new Earth. Those who are not in the Lord, their spirit will be united to their body, and cast into the lake of fire.

I will gladly give scripture to those who ask, for what I say here.

Marksman, the entire book of Revelation shows that St. John was able to speak to an angel in Heaven.
Totally irelevant as the angels are not humans and they have been there for ever and a day. Another one of your convoluted twistology trickeries.

Christ was able to ascend into Heaven in both body and soul. During the resurrection of the dead, the bodies of those who have died will also enter Heaven and be reunited with their living souls in Heaven.
No he didn't. Joh 4:24 God is a spirit, and they who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. no mention of a body. As you say that Jesus is God, he must be spirit only as well. Another of your convoluted twistology trickeries.

1Co 15:50 And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I speak a mystery to you; we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed;
1Co 15:52 in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and when this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory.
You quote this passage and then you say.......
Our bodies will be modeled after Christ - a glorified body, which can enter heaven. Christ resurrected in body and spirit, but His body was also changed. It is not the same as the earthly body when He was walking the earth.
Sorrry but one contradicts the other which says to me that you are so desperate to give credance to stuff that is complete rubbish that you jump on anything that seems to say what you want it to say.

The Catholic religion goes against the Word of God. The Catholic religion has so many false doctrines. We are saved through the Truth, Jesus is the Truth. Catholics teach a Jesus that is different than the Jesus of the Bible. The Catholics teach lies. If you believe on lies, lies the Catholic church teaches...that is another Jesus. Catholics who want a relationship with God need to leave the Catholic church.

Marksman, well done - you are great at spotting typos. Pity you dont debate or listen to others as well as you proofread.
Proof reading is a disability I have. Sorry I can't do anything about that. It is a pity that you papists don't answer questions as you said you would. Would that constitute lying? If so, you have broken one of the 10 commandments. And the word is don't...not dont.

I think this quote was from a reply that I made to Selene. So it wasn't something that she said but what I had said in trying to explain what I thought the condition and state of the dead is. I was trying to say that a time is coming, but is not yet, when the dead would be raised back to life in the resurrection.
Which is obvious Truthquest as you so aptly point out...that is if you are not blinded by the convoluted twistology of the papacy.

I would expect disagreements, but the attacks and rude comments are uncalled for. It is sad to see that this thread is no longer a discussion where we can have an honest dialogue so that our Protestant brothers can at least comprehend why we do this and do that despite that they may disagree with it. I agree that if Christians don't support each other, we are lost.
Yes, when are you going to stop your attacks and rude comments.

You can only have honest dialogue if you tell the truth, not promote the convoluted twistology of the roman church.

One of my ministries has been to try and unite the different denominations in the town where I live. I have had a modicum of success but I have noticed on each occasion there is always one church that won't come to the party....the rcc. What was that you said about supporting each other?

When I worked in the catholic system, I was told by the priest that I could not take communion because.....I am not a paid up member of the catholic church. What was that you said about supporting each other?

Are you saying that we should NOT follow the teaching of Scripture?
Now who was it who vehemently insisted all they wanted to do was answer questions they were asked? In case you hadn't noticed, that was NOT the question I asked. Perhaps you might like to answer the question I did ask, and reclaim a bit of credibility for yourself.

And where in scripture does it say to pray to the Holy Spirit? Just a straight forward answer of specific verses would be appreciated, not some waffle about, this that and the other.
The Holy Spirit is God. He is the third person in the Holy Trinity. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God; therefore, we pray to God.
And where in scripture does it say to pray to the Holy Spirit? Just a straight forward answer of specific verses would be appreciated, not some waffle about, this that and the other

Since when is it condescending to pray for others when the Bible clearly say that it is okay to pray for each other (James 5:16). The Bible even tells us to pray for those who persecute us and for those who are ill and suffering.
A classic example of convoluted twistology where you use scripture which has no bearing on the issue to support that which is unsupportable. In other words, the truth is not relevant to me.

What attacks and rude comments are coming from us? We are the ones who are being called liars and heretics. None of the Catholics here have ever called you a liar or a heretic.

You can only have honest dialogue if you tell the truth, not promote the convoluted twistology of the roman church.

Actually, what you really want us to say are bad and negative things about everything that we believe in about our Lord Jesus Christ.. Sorry, but we cannot do that. I would never give up my faith in Christ.

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:

You see this....this is exactly what I mean. I gave you an answer saying that we believe that the Holy Spirit is God because we believe in the Holy Trinity. Nowhere in my answer to you did I ever say that your question was an example of convoluted twistology or some waffle. It has always been you who was doing the persecuting. You put down my answer simply you don't like it. But nowhere in my response did I put down your question.

You see this? These posts are all from you. You call our answers "rubbish." Since you already believed that what we have to say is "rubbish" why do you even bother to ask us questions? All these persecutions are coming from you and Anastacia. All you have been doing is making condenscending remarks on all our answers simply because you do not like our answers.

You THINK we put down the Word of God. We do not ignore and twist Scripture. We simply interpret it differently than you. We believe in the Holy Trinity...which means that we believe that God is three persons in ONE. We do believe that the Holy Spirit is God. Since you believe that the Holy Spirit is ONLY a spirit of God and Jesus and NOT God, that is your belief, which I NEVER put down. I accepted it despite the fact that I disagree with it. A true Christian loves their neighbor. How does one love their neighbor? But not putting them down, condescending their beliefs, and showing disrespect to them. What you really want is to force your beliefs onto me and other Catholics. Christ never forced Himself on anyone.

If it wasn't for the Catholics we would all be Muslims by now.

LOL!!!! This is funny!!!

I know you put down the Word of God. You do ignore and twist the Scriptures. A young child can understand the scriptures. It's confusing to people what the scriptures mean when Catholics and other false religions give their lies.

There is something wrong with you when you say "the Holy Spirit is ONLY a spirit of God and Jesus." What is with the "only"? You never put down my beliefs? You put down the Word of God, not only that you put it down, but you put it aside to practice things taught by demons.

You say I'm disrespectful, you and aspen have been disrespectful. But you can't see it, like you can't see the Truth.

So which is it going to be Marksman and Anastacia - victims of persecution or crusaders of truth - you do not get to be both, sorry.

I have never put down your beliefs. I do not even ask you questions any of your beliefs. You believe that the Holy Spirit is ONLY a spirit of God and Jesus....how is that putting your beliefs down compared to YOU calling my beliefs evil and taught by demons? I put emphasis on "only" to show that your beliefs and mine are indeed different.

I do not put down the Word of God nor ignore the Scriptures because I use scriptures as support. You just don't like how scripture can support what I say.

For example, when I stated that Jesus spoke to Moses and Elijah in the Transfiguration, you do not like that Scripture because in that Scripture Jesus was actually speaking to someone who was no longer walking on the earth. And the three Apostles who were with Jesus was able to see the spirits of Moses and Elijah. That is what you do not like simply because you do not know what to make of it.

You are the one who kept calling us "liars". Where have we been disrespectful? We have never even called you any names? But you....how easy it is for you to call someone who don't even know a "liar." You and Marksman have been doing all the persecuting and all the name calling, and we are your victims. What rude names have I called you?

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:
