It does not matter. What matters is what Jesus said. Are 40 years a short or long time to man?
Are 1000 years a long time in your estimation?

Where did I say anything about Jesus contradicting Himself? He was contradicting futurists (including you), but it is not the same thing. While Preterists would have us believe that Jesus is contradicting Himself
LOL. To answer it honestly would demolish your doctrine. It does not matter. What matters is what Jesus said.
What doctrine, Mt 24? Be specific, you are talking in riddles.LOL. To answer it honestly would demolish your doctrine.
Precious friend, already did/tried to do that = NO interest in studying God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided.Pretribbers:
How about actually showing us any Scripture that teaches a rapture of the Church followed by a 7 years trib followed by a 3rd coming, instead of always voicing personal opinions?
↑Agreed, it seems most people here do not want to actually study the text, with an honest and open mind.Precious friend, already did/tried to do that = NO interest in studying God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided.
Only comments like "Bible choppers, pre-Fibbers, heretics, a direct lie, etc. etc. etc."... , so NO further discussion needed, eh?

That was a very pleasant and considerate post. I would agree with everything on it up to the last sentence. You see, I can't stay away from JW's, half of my family is filled with them and I am btw an adherent to OSAS.People have been trying to predict the end from the very beginning. No harm, even the Apostles believed they were living in the last days. Since they got it wrong I am not going to slight anyone for being interested.
But people are missing the point…..I was on a thread where they were debating if the story of the rich man and Lazarus was a true story or a parable. Old debate but the point is be read for Judgment Day before it is too late. Christ said only His father knows….(One of a hundred verses that prove they are not the same person.)
Be ready is the point….Live a good Christian life….give to charity...go to church and be involved with church activities. Raise your children in the church. Stay away from the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Calvinists and the Once Saved Always Saved and Universalism groups.
Your attitude is very strange, you are not really looking forward to the return of Jesus, you are looking forward to escape from trouble, through raptrue doctrine, Escape from this earth. Is anybody really upset with this report? If you didn't hear it from me, it was all over the airwaves. I just reported it and shared it, brought bits to your attention and then it exploded! I did not confirm it at any time and also claimed it went contrary to my Mid -Trib views that I've held for years! Do a search, put my name and topic, "7th Trumpet", "last trumpet", "rapture" and you can verify it.
Take the post as you would an article in a newspaper - it's a story and I didn't add to it, just reported as it was also circulated throughout the world. I put the disclaimer on my post stating I was not sure and skeptical. A reporter who even interviews someone who later turns out to be a false prophet is not necessarily required to issue a public apology, but is ethically obligated to report the new information and correct the record. An apology may be warranted if the reporter's own errors or negligence contributed to the false information being presented. The post was a question about someone else's prediction. And this is not a prestigious forum section (eschatology) that is held in highest standards of interpretation! We typically read and argument in disagreement over a dozen views passionately held. Ya'll gonna apologize to eachother in the end after the real event happens to be opposite to what you touted for decades??? And btw, this is a loose forum filled with layman, not professors or clergy. I have haven't come across any scholars in here. Scholars, preachers and teachers don't really have the time to chat because they are actually doing something, serving, not just idly talking and sharing. Does anyone feel like they are participating in saving souls in this forum? Ya'll think you're evangelists or teachers? I don't. I didn't tell people to go "sell everything and wait for the Hale-Bop Comet, your ship is right behind it and will be picking you up"! I did not confirm this prediction - show me where I did.

I'll spring board off this post and just reiterate that we are to be alert and sober for His return. I drew attention to this prediction like a reporter would, just reporting news. If you didn't hear it from me, it went viral worldwide as we approached Rosh Hashana, mostly YouTube. This also created more AI generated predictions as well. So whether this was a false prophecy or not, "God causes all things . to work for good for those who love the Lord, for those who are called to His purpose"! That's right, He is sovereign and allows all events in history for a purpose, good or evil.
What good came out of this? Put that aside and let me ask another question: What can Christians learn from Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur?
Three books are opened in heaven on Rosh Hashanah , one for the completely wicked, one for the completely righteous and one for those in between.
What follows the trumpet blasts (if not associated with the Rapture) are the 10 days of awe.
The Ten Days of Repentance are seen as an opportunity for change. A change of heart, a spiritual reboot. No one is perfectly righteous or even 100% evil. Rosh Hashanah functions, for the majority of people, as the opening of an unsual trial that extends until Yom Kippur. Most trials concern past deeds but this one _ in the past _ reflectsmed on future deeds. For the Jews, their verdict ( a legalistic one) is determined. Both their attitude toward their misdeeds and their attempts to rectify them by changing themselves. Then comes the Daybif Atonement, Judgment Day!
>> For Christians and all others, this is an opportune time to turn to Jesus ( repent).
When God opens the books, the verdict won't be based on your deeds or attitudes at all, they will be based on your relationship with Christ. That's it, are you in Christ or not?
During this time in history a line is being drawn down the middle. You must choose, are you with Christ or not? When He returns, He will take His Church, all others will be left behind.
Most events in the Bible have been centered around Jerusalem and the end time scenario is no diffierent. According to Romans 11, during this time, a remnant Jewish population will be saved, whether before or during the Great Tribulation. Many of them will realize who their Messiah truly is and has been. They will mourn when they find out. They will be tested and have to persevere through the fire as well as anyone else (those who were left behind who were on the fence about Christ).
Yom Kippur is approaching. Christians aren't required to observe these holy days that were set apart by God for the Jews. But we can learn from them, repent, reflect on our relationship with Christ, be charitable towards others, forgiving them. Attitude still is important. I remember Chuck Swindoll had a teaching, "Attitude is Everything". Our attitude towards Christ first and then others is very crucial! If you say you love Jesus and hate your brother, I don't really think you have a good attitude.
We are in the last days."Last days means last days" is nothing said.
It is not the end of the physical universe, which you probably imagine. How do we know? Because it did not end in the 1st century. But the 1st century were the last days, biblically:
But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.
Heb 1:2
The end of all things is at hand.
1 Pt 4:7
It is the last hour
1 John 2:18
..the ends of the ages have come.
1Cor 10:11
Does "the last hour" mean ... cue drum roll ... LAST HOUR?
It was 'normal' life for all who did not enter the Ark - then the Wrath of God poured down on them = after the tribulation of those daysJesus defined the setting of the rapture.
In mat 24...(you know the sentences that destroy postrib doctrine.)
Normal life.
Ahem...exactly opposite your doctrine.
Before, during and afterWhere did Jesus place the preaching of the gospel to all the nations, in His chronology? Before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD or after?
If we just read the text and if we do not try to change it or to rearrange it, Jesus mentions the preaching of the gospel between the signs like famines and the attack on Jerusalem. That would be since 37 AD (or 41 AD if you wish to begin from the famine mentioned in Acts) till 70 AD.
...and your doctrine has a different setting than Jesus declared. It was 'normal' life for all who did not enter the Ark - then the Wrath of God poured down on them = after the tribulation of those days
No, can't say thatI wanted to talk about the words of Jesus, but I see you want to jump to other places. OK, 2 Thess 1 - what about it?
Do we agree that Mt 24 (and the analogies in Mark and Luke) do not support any futurism, first?
LolIt was 'normal' life for all who did not enter the Ark - then the Wrath of God poured down on them = after the tribulation of those days
False. Though many Christians would prefer not to be appointed to Gid's wrath during the most terrifying time of distress in history, I think we'll have to go through some of it and be taken out at the the 7th Trumpet ( has been my view for a long time), hence being spared the 7 bowls of wrath. It's a trumpet blown by an angel NOT a shofar. Which us why I was not convinced about Joshua's prediction - but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Why? Because I am flexible and willing to accept that I am wrong.Your attitude is very strange, you are not really looking forward to the return of Jesus, you are looking forward to escape from trouble, through raptrue doctrine, Escape from this earth.
Since someone said he had already returned, no one cared whether the news was true or false, because the so-called damn rapture did not happen. Therefore, whether the news is true or false, it is meaningless to those who believe in the damn rapture theory.
And what does this have to do at all with your accusations against me. though you may not believe it, I do this always. so I await your evidence that I was spreading lies. When approaching the Holy Scriptures, always place yourself under this Highest Priority #1 Commandment of the LORD.
Commanded by the LORD at least 3 times
Deuteronomy 4:1-2
“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you.
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Proverbs 30:5-6
Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
Do not add to His words,
Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
Revelation 22:18
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book:
If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
I want you to prove that what I said; "the rapture has no pre-events attached to it: is a lie.Direct lie against the words of the LORD and the Holy Prophets and the Holy Apostles
STOP believing the lies from the modern day false teachers who speak that which never came out of the mouth of God.
Do you think this is for you? Are you alive or dead? If Jesus came now, how did you fly up to the clouds to meet the Lord?False. Though many Christians would prefer not to be appointed to Gid's wrath during the most terrifying time of distress in history, I think we'll have to go through some of it and be taken out at the the 7th Trumpet ( has been my view for a long time), hence being spared the 7 bowls of wrath. >"Damn rapture theory"? <
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Q Thes..4:16-17
In Greek, Harpazo, means to be snatched away, carried off, seized, taken up or caught up. IT IS THE RESSURECTION! Don't curse it!
1 Cor. 15:51-52 also describes this event:
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
I am looking forward to that event!
We may be, in this or that meaning. For example, we are in the last days of the intellectual work being performed only by humans, because of the AI. So, one "age" or era is truly ending. We are in the last days.
Nope, read the text. Do you want me to copy it here and to color the exact stages of the last days as predicted by Jesus, in chronological order? Before, during and after
