Yes, that is simply another Bible translation. Love in the one is called Charity in another

There is a time and season for everything, but it is established by God, not by you or by me. You seemingly have decided along with Twinc that tongues have no further place, but believe me when I say that it is not so.

"Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." I Cor 14:39

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

God gave us all that we have. Has He given us anything that is evil? Some gifts indeed are misused or abused or even imitated by people with wrong intentions.

My gifts are not yours and your gifts are not mine. Am I the director of your walk with God? Are you the director of my walk with God?

Will anyone but God tell me how to use what He has given to me as His servant? Should I join the wicked and slothful servant because you advise me that I do not have that which I know I do have?

"And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine." Matt 25:25

Finally consider also what a person's gift is to do for him, if he uses it as God intends. Who but God can tell me His intention for me and my gift?

"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." Prov 18:16

@twinc -All I can say is, this is one of the drums you beat regularly. I wish I had a $ for every thread you have started on the subject of tongues. Not only on this site but the others too.

It must REALLY bother you or scare you or something...as you keep on bringing it up.

If you think that reposting this same old thing is going to some how annoy us (who DO use tongues daily in our prayer life)....then you are very wrong.
We KNOW in whom we believe...and we think you are quite pitiable.

So using your logic, knowledge is no longer attainable. The bible states "it will vanish away".

I think he must be fighting with God about this subject...not us....just like Shakespeare said.." Me thinks he doth protest too much"...all this protesting make him look stupid ..we never can beat God in a fight. God began it..and in HIS time God will let it pass away...and the time is not yet!

you and others it seems do not read scriptures carefully and prayerfully - we are told that the Holy Spirit will teach or preach nothing of His own but only bring back to remembrance what Jesus had already taught so that Jesus would be the same yesterday today and forever for behold said He " I am with you always even to the end of the world" = He not the Holy Spirit will be not with you as you but you as the Church - twinc

What I am interested in is...you have posted this SOoooo often...Do you REALLY expect that you will get any different answers to all those that you have got before in your "protests"?
