But the action is believing, the result is eternal life. You can't worm your way out of this one guy. Checkmate.Phoneman777 said:Brother, the death from which you crossed over to life was also "eternal", so "eternal" is no proof at all that you can't cross back over to death.
BTW, the Unmerciful Servant crossed back over from forgiveness to condemnation, right?
Did you even read what I said? I said the death you crossed over from was ETERNAL, yet you are still able to cross over from that, so you can't use "eternal" as an operative word for claiming the inability to cross back over from life to death. "Consistency, thou art a jewel."ATP said:But the action is believing, the result is eternal life. You can't worm your way out of this one guy. Checkmate.
BTW, if the Unmerciful Servant didn't believe that he was forgiven, then he's an idiot because the condemned don't have the ability to walk the streets and track down other people who owe them money.ATP said:But the action is believing, the result is eternal life. There is no "yet" in that scripture. You're adding to scripture. That's a no no. Eternal is eternal Phoneman. Are you going to add "yet" to these scriptures too..I guess John lied to us. We can't be confident........1 John 5:13-14 NIV.....Phoneman777 said:Did you even read what I said? You can't have it both ways any sooner that you can move two Chess pieces at the same time, the equivalent of your reasoning.
Believing in Jesus means believing what He says. I don't see how you do not understand that.ATP said:There is no "yet" in that scripture. You're adding to scripture. That's a no no. John 3:14-15 NIV Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 5:24 NIV “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
John 6:40 NIV For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
John 6:47 NIV I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
Acts 13:46-48 NIV Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: "We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us: " 'I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.' " 48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
1 John 5:13-14 NIV I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
And believing in Jesus is also believing that God raised Jesus from the dead and believing He is your ultimate Savior. The Barrd said:Believing in Jesus means believing what He says. I don't see how you do not understand that.

Still dancing around.John endorses eternal life by believing, dude.
You need to accept what Jesus did for you on the cross.Joyful said:Still dancing around.
You need to repent of your ungrateful attitude.
Of course I do. that's why I show my gratitude and trying to keep my promise to Him. I accepted Him as Lord so I show my gratitude by doing my best to obey His commands and tell others to do the same. Jesus commands us to tell the world about Him and His commands.ATP said:You need to accept what Jesus did for you on the cross.
So tell me, how can one lose his salvation if Jesus paid for it all?Joyful said:Of course I do. that's why I show my gratitude and trying to keep my promise to Him. Jesus paid for people accept Jesus as their Lord and savior. We all will be be saved if we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior with all our heart, soul, strength and mind.ATP said:So tell me, how can one lose his salvation if Jesus paid for it all?
I don't think you understand. Jesus paid for all sins, past, present and future. Even the sins I will commit tomorrow. He paid for them. So if He paid my sin debt, how is it possible to lose my salvation?Joyful said:Jesus paid for people accept Jesus as their Lord and savior. You are still looking for lope hole of my statement.
You never quit being rebellious. You need to repent if you want eternal life.
Are you grateful to Him, then, ATP?ATP said:I don't think you understand. Jesus paid for all sins, past, present and future. Even the sins I will commit tomorrow. He paid for them. So if He paid my sin debt, how is it possible to lose my salvation?
