Are you implying that I do not know what I'm talking about?
The writer of 1 Corinthians 14:33 was setting out the two extreme opposites of peace and tumoult (losely and incorrectly interpreted as 'confusion') and, being Jewish, would have been totally conversant and aware of Genesis 11:1-7, where God is clearly and distinctly shown to have been the original 'author of confusion'.

That does not mean that the sin nature has been removed. And God does deal with wilful sins in His children, but that does not mean that they are no longer children of God.

Actually, the Word of God says the opposite. For the law of the Spirit frees us from the law of sin (nature) and death. We are not in the flesh (nature) but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells within. And if the Spirit of Christ does not dwell within, they do not belong to Christ.

That is the whole purpose of being given the Spirit of God - to empower us to not sin. We are partakers of the DIVINE NATURE, so what makes you think the old man still rules you? It is not our body that sins, it is our nature. That is what is born again. Those who still struggle with sin have never been born again.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

You seem to have forgotten that Paul includes "life" as well as "death". Life is not an outside force, but your life -- what you do or not do. So even if Christians sin (and there is not one who is sinlessly perfect) they cannot be separated from God.

Jesus said to be perfect as His Father in heaven is perfect. He has given us His power and nature to do so.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

That is perfection. It is what we must be to enter heaven.

Anyway both saved and predestined work together, just some people get the wrong idea of predestination, we still get to make the decision on whether we believe in Jesus or not, even though God knows what will happen, but we still get a choice.

I am also going to say born again Christians are saved, the moment they invite Jesus into their lives, ask Him for his forgiveness, and confess with their mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour, they are saved from their sins, their sins are wiped clean by His precious blood.

Born Again Christians are cleansed from their sins, they are saved from their sins, and they will see eternal life, if Jesus was to come back today.

that is an awesome belief to start out with imo, and there is now an endless stairway laid out before one who has started in that path;but few there are who find it

and a def of eternal as forever rather than a space of time, an age, aion is forced, and Jesus, Returning cannot be Quoted? Christ appears, is revealed, comes, but no root for "return" anywhere i can find?
Return to Me, and I will return to you
@bbyrd009 well Elijah and Enoch are in Heaven ;)
then in that case No one has ever gone up to heaven but the Son of Man, Who came down from it cannot be true, right?
And wadr you cannot Quote either of them as having entered heaven anyway; give it a try.

That would also make There is only One Immortal untrue, wouldnt it
contemplate the immortality of a three year old, ha, do yourself a favor imo and tell a three year old that they are going to get old and die one day, and see what happens :)

youre talking about two guys for all we know are composites, characters, never even literally existed, and even if they did it was umptyump whatever thousand years ago, right
immortal as it gets maybe

Are we chosen to be saved?
who is "we?"

Does God pre-select us according to his will?
who is "us?"

Is salvation only for the elect?
technically, sure, but both of those terms' definitions are highly subjective, yeh? What do you mean by "salvation," may i ask. "Elect" is maybe a honey-trap for certain um professors, but that is hard to demonstrate to someone who reasons in the hegelian dialectic

I have faith, i believe, I've confessed and repented and accepted Christ as lord and saviour, but am i saved?
are you experiencing life, more abundantly? Got it pressed down, shaken together, running over? Then bada-bing right
If not predestined and apart of his elect? Then all hope faith and trust in Christ is in vain, and comes to nothing.
so lemme ask you, if Yah Himself came down today and told you to your face that when you die its all over for you--well at least the part you ID with now as being "you," your ego iow--that there is no "going to heaven" after death, what would be your reaction, and how might you conduct yourself differently in the future, do you think?

In the Old Testament God's people were the children of Israel. In the New Testament God's people are the of children of Israel and Gentiles. We are still the ones that have to accept Jesus, He will not force you to accept.

God is just and there will come the end of the age and those who never had the option of coming to God will be judged according to the life they lived.

Acceptance of God still means we will live, to the best of our ability, for Jesus. We are human, so we will fall short many times, but God will forgive! So just do the best you can to live for God and have faith in Him.

May the LORD bless and keep you in Jesus name!

Here in America, all have the option to come to Jesus. We have either accepted Him or turned away. So, in effect we have made the decision.
So today we have a people who do not need God because we have everything that the Godless Soul thinks it need and the Government is King over all such people.
Socialism or Communism is god in the eyes of such people, as Bishop Sheen once explained such well.
All such Godless people are as Vampires.

Ephesians 4:5.
Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.

Ephesians 11.
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.
God elects all who will be saved.
Once saved from your sins, you are also.predestined to be confirmed to the image of the Son.
Anyone who denies this does not know what they are talking about.

This is what Reformed Theology and Calvinism teach. But it is patently false. All may be saved if all will obey the Gospel.

Predestination and election are for believers "to be conformed to the image of His Son" (Rom 8:29,30). To be transformed into the exact likeness of Christ.

DIVINE FOREKNOWLEDGE
For whom He did foreknow...

PREDESTINATION/ELECTION
...he also did predestinate...

THE PURPOSE OF PREDESTINATION
...to be conformed to the image of his Son...

ALL THE SAINTS TO RESEMBLE CHRIST
...that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

FIRST THE DIVINE CALL THROUGH THE GOSPEL
...Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called...

THEN JUSTIFICATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH
...and whom he called, them he also justified...

THEN SANCTIFICATION (NOT MENTIONED HERE)

THEN GLORIFICATION AND PERFECTION
...and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
(that we should be holy and blameless before him)
No.one seeks God.
No man can come.
You are wrong on this.

God Offers Salvation, men freely choose to receive His Offer, or not.

No. God Is all-Knowing. He knows Who will and WHO will not "choose to receive His Offering", and He has a place Prepared for each.

God Loves all of His Creations.
And WHEN His Creations Loves Him Back...Chooses/Elects Him...They become His ELECT/ Choice.

His ELECT, have different "roles", so to speak, throughout History...
The House of David is His Elect...
Abraham is His Elect...
Moses is His Elect...
The Tribes, called Israel are His Elect...
The Apostles are His Elect...
Mary is His Elect...
Christ's Church is His Elect...
The 144,000 are His Elect...
Etc.

Because God is "their" Elect.
1 Thes 1:
[4] Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

The condition...is what you mentioned.
The "caveat" IS: that your Confession is a True Belief from your Truth in your Heart...
That being the case, then "Yes" you have received The Lord Gods Salvation...

Predestined ... is God knowing what men do not yet know...He has already Prepared a place for all.

Yes, He choses each whom He Knows will be born, and IF they will choose Him.

Glory to God,
Taken[/QUOTE]
Complete falsehood here.

I could disagree with that one, Christian's have had visions of one's that have passed on in Heaven, Marietta Davis I believe her name was, was taken up to heaven and saw all the infants that have died, she saw them in Heaven.
Please tell me Josho, that you don't actually believe this?

@bbyrd009 It was a powerful vision given to Marietta Davis by God, when she fell into a coma, you should go check out the book "Nine Days in Heaven." She saw Heaven and Hell in the vision.
...I'm trying to find the dislike button here?

One is tempted to wonder if there is any 'theology' that, whilst appearing to be clearly underpinned by certain scriptures, does not appear to be equally clearly undermined by other scriptures.
Well said, very insightful and objective!

That's right Anthony, if they disagree with you, then it's tantamount to hating God's Word.
My, how profound!
it is not me they disagree with me, but rather Gods word. if you had a better grasp of scripture than you would know this.

Yep I believe her testimony, go read the book.

There's no rule that I have to agree with everything others have to say on here.

Babies are innocent, they are too young to know the differences between right and wrong, they are too young to make a decision. God is a graceful, merciful God and loving God, I am not questioning it, it is beyond human understanding of how great our God is, how great Jesus's love and grace is.

And God can use multiple ways to speak to human beings, and show them great things, I am not putting any limits on God's power either.
