Setting Up Idols: The Snare That Brings Bondage

Idols are damaging. An idol(s) can be a person you look up idolize like American Idol, or someone on a tv or show. It can be other things that you tend to put up for yourself, like a created image or something worshiped other than the true and living God. Even traditions in which some families may see them as good to hold on to, it may not be true and good to hold on to. Be careful of snares, snags, and traps.

Dont set up idols for yourself, seek the true and living God.

Idols bring bondage.

That can be worshiping anything that puts and makes God secondary in your life.

Therefore, because of this, be sure to make the LORD your God, first in your life every day. Idols can lead you astray away from the LORD, and that in time will wither a person away from the living God.

Why would you think that God had led the people of Israel away from Egypt? Because they were under bondage, but then they brought back the bondage upon themselves, because they did not place Yahava, first in their lives, some may have had faith, but some became faithless, and turned away from him.
