I'm sorry that happened to you, and I'm glad you're better now. The Beatles had an opposite effect on me, and my life, though. Their music provided me a comforting refuge of solace while growing up in an abusive home. I mentioned this yesterday in the "Thankful for..." thread in the Praise forum.

I remember first hearing that such a group existed when I was on active duty in Viet Nam in 1964-65. My little brother wrote me a letter praising this British group. We only received the AFRS [Armed Forces Radio Station] which did not play their music.

My brother was excited out of his mind about the Beatles and was disappointed that in my reply to him I was not and how it was possible I had not even heard of them. Also... I was 21 and he was 11.
