I got a thought for you about who is 'everyone'.

1 Thessalonians 5 say all these who are being suddenly destroyed are in darkness and not expecting Him, meaning none are waiting for Him in opposition, because they are all in opposition, as in following the devil as Ephesians 2 describes all unsaved are doing as children of wrath. Paul says they are of the night, and of the darkness. He comes for them as a thief in the night comes.

You also left out the verse that speaks of the ones still alive that shall be ruled over after Armageddon:

Ignoring the verb tenses, this whole verse, and passages like Rev 2, 20 and Daniel 7 and the fact that the only people shown to be slain in Rev 19 is the army at that one specific place and you have the unscriptural core of the Amill doctrine. SDA have a similar view of all the wicked being slain in Rev 19, wrong for the same exact reasons.

That Matthew 25 sheep-and-goats text is the absolute heavyweight knockout punch.

Matthew 16:27 and Matthew 25:31–46 completely destroys any remaining room for a multi-stage separation or a delayed earthly kingdom. Look at how Jesus describes that single, unified moment:

• The Arrival: "When the Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory." (v. 31)
• The Universal Gathering and Immediate Division: "And before Him shall be gathered all nations, and He shall separate them one from another..." (v. 32)
• The Final Verdict: The righteous inherit eternal life while the cursed instantly depart into everlasting fire (v. 41, 46).

There is no 1,000-year probation period sandwiched in there, no surviving unregenerate class left to populate mortal cities, and no staggered timeline. The return in glory, the gathering of all nations, the judicial division, and the eternal rewards all happen simultaneously on that Great Day.

The false doctrine called Amillennialism is a 2nd century A.D. invention when the Greek Gnostics began creeping in among Christ's Church and spreading false doctrine. It deceived many then, and is still doing so today.
