God Used language the people of their time could understand to express concepts which science now is coming to understand.
For Example we are being "knit together" in the womb (Psalm 139:13) did not fully come to appreciated till the discovery of DNA and how this works.
It is the same for the four pillars that hold up the earth, which is a reference to the four forces that hold all matter together.
The "science" is in scripture, but the terminology of science is not. The creation account in Genesis is the most scientific description of the order of Creation but does not use the terms scientists do. Science assumes uniformity, The Word of God introduces anomaly and the hand of God that causes these anomalies. therefore you get "Old earth" with science and "Young earth" with creation. Science is starting to catch up with these concepts and trying to force their atheistic/material calamity to their uniformity model (Comet strike to wipe out dinosaurs, Regional floods, etc.) But those who read the Word of God understand the source of these anomalies.
