LOL

You invented a new toy to beat, emotions are bad. How can you know that if you don't have them yourself ?
Maybe this is a language thing....but I'm talking about "emotionalism" where everything has to pass through one's emotions before proceeding. It's not against having emotions....it's using them to overrule logic.

Having a proper balance.

It is possible with God, all things are possible with God. It is impossible with men.
It’s not that we can be holy of ourselves, of course not, there is only one who is holy.
The veil was torn that led into the holiest place. That speaks of the possibility of being swept into Gods’ very own holiness. But men do not believe it. They think it is impossible for God because it is impossible for men.

If it is true that there is only One who is holy, don’t you think the definition of holy is that One? It’s going a very bad direction to bring the definition of holy to the degraded place of what is possible for men.

I'm going to post something for you from Gemini.
Let me clarify that WE ARE NOT TO LEARN FROM AI....
however, it perfectly states what holiness is.

You can take it or leave it...up to you.

Holy means to be set apart.
God is Holy....HE is also set apart.... from everything....because He is God.

WE are also holy....
we are set apart...for service to God.

2 Timothy 2:21
21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

Source: Gemini

The word holy primarily means set apart, distinct, or connected to God and religion. [1, 2, 3]

Core Definitions

    • Set Apart: In biblical and theological contexts (such as the Hebrew word kadosh), to be holy means to be unique and separated from ordinary things for a special purpose.
    • Divine and Pure: It describes things, places, or beings associated with God, featuring complete moral goodness, righteousness, and spiritual perfection.
In Christian theology, holy primarily means "set apart" or "other", describing something or someone dedicated exclusively to God. [1, 2]
The concept breaks down into two core meanings:

    1. The Holiness of God (Transcendence and Purity)
      • Utterly Unique: God is separate from all creation, living in a class of His own with no rivals or equals.

I think you are searching for whatever will describe you as holy, but there is only one who is holy.

Whatever you wish to believe MostlyConfused.

It's unfortunate that Christians cannot even use the same vocabulary.
The WORDS are the same...
but the DEFINITION is different.

If we are holy it does not mean we are as perfect as Jesus was. BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY.
If we are holy we are set apart for the work of God.
If we are set apart for the work of God and do the work of God then we will be righteous...
we will be right with God.

If you have some other definition....that's something I will not be debating.

I AM holy.
I AM set apart for the work of God.
This is what REPENT means.

Are YOU not set apart for the work of God?
Are YOU not holy?
BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY.

We are commanded to be holy.
So are you?

Last try.
I've provided scripture...you have not.
What is your authority?

When utensils were set apart only for Gods’ use in the temple, they were not used there one day and then the next day they were used for a common temporal use outside. Does anyone here want to claim they are set aside ONLY for Gods’ use without any desires or will or plan of their own at any moment?

"Do not come any closer... Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground". Ex 3:5

What was it about the ground that made it holy? Was it a special ground that was set apart for God's use?

Or was it the fact that God was there?

So this is the result of 2½ years failed holiness and since then unable to get back there.

And by your own words had to change, into this?
You have no idea why God has not taken him back there a third time yet or if He will. I think God didnt allow him to stay there because it was Gods’ WILL that he leave there to come and tell us who are still wandering in circles in the desert that it’s a good place and that God desires to give it to us and that we should seek to enter into it. The man is humble before God and would probably disagree with that, continuing to think he failed rather than it being Gods’ will. I thank God often that He didnt allow this man to stay there because I would not even have a clue that it was Gods’ pleasure to give it to us. I would just be waiting for death rather than hoping for such abundance now. I would literally have no clue.

Maybe YOU are in a desert wandering in circles.
Please don't use the word US in that sentence.

We're supposed to be using SCRIPTURE for learning how to be a good Christian...
You have chosen a good moniker for yourself...
and you will remain confused if you do not go to the NT and immerse yourself in it instead of inventing your own religion.

You have not replied to my posts with one verse.
This is a very bad sign...

but you're in the THEOLOGY Forum?
Interesting.

He even says, God doesn’t take men there before they are ready, yet he took this man there before he was ready. I can’t even imagine the pain of that, which he has borne and then to have, on top of that, you mocking him when God is pouring out of him, for us, from Himself.

You just didn’t recognize any of the verses I have alluded to because I used different wording.
A holy man, as you claim to be, would have recognized them.

You should know whether it's good or bad Armour.
The NT, including Jesus and Paul, stated that we should be one.
Philippians 2:2
2Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Jesus said:
John 17:20
20“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one,

If each denomination, including the non-denominational churches, use the same bible and yet teach different doctrine...it means that there is more than one truth.

I wonder what you would call a "detail".

Is obedience a detail?
Is OSAS a detail?

Either one could cause a person to be expelled from the Kingdom of Heaven.
There's a member on this forum right now advising me that I could sin and still be saved.
Is THIS a detail?

Why are you attacking me for...

All I said is that people have different interpretations...

It's not my fault. It just is what it is.
Complaining about it won't do anything
Geez... :watching and waiting:

God is everywhere.
Don't let what you think you know already get in the way of the depth of meaning in the text.

Logically...God said that the ground was holy. Is ALL ground holy? Was God saying that Moses had to go bare-foot everywhere?

So you are missing the point... holiness is where God is. Holiness is about LOCATION. Our only way to be holy is to enter into Christ who is our holiness.

The latest new word in this thread is empathy and how important it is to understand the goodness of the Lord, His riches, His love for use, His holiness.

The Bible views a lack of empathy—often described as a cold heart, hardness of heart, or indifference—as a serious spiritual failing, though the modern English word "empathy" does not explicitly appear in biblical text. Instead, Scripture uses terms like compassion (splagchnizomai), mercy, and loving-kindness. [1, 2, 3]

What the Bible Says About Lacking Empathy
    • A Hard Heart: Scripture links a lack of caring emotion to a "cold heart" and flawed thinking, noting that what a person thinks dictates how they feel. [1]
    • The Example of Jesus: Jesus consistently showed deep emotional and physical response to human suffering—weeping at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35), having compassion on harassed crowds (Matthew 9:36), and understanding human weakness (Hebrews 4:15). [1, 2, 3, 4]
    • Core Commands: Believers are explicitly instructed to care for others and share in their emotional states:
      • "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15).
      • "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it" (1 Corinthians 12:26).
      • "Whoever sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?" (1 John 3:17). [1, 2]

I don't know if it's a good or bad. It just is.
It's in man's nature to challenge ideas of others

There can only be one truth.
That's what all the Christian denominations and people debate about, all the biblical details
let us reword that first answer you gave just a wee bit my friend .
Oh it is bad , very bad if the opinion is contrary to the Truth .
Doctrine matters . Oh it surely does . Now on those feet and to the trenches
the hour is late and later the hour is than even it was yesterday .

And now a word . And it be a serious word of caution to us all .
We are commanded to care all right .
And how caring is it to allow sin and unbeleif upon a person and yet beleive its loving and caring to DO SO .
And if one cares more , loves anything more than GOD , HIS CHRIST , oh beleive you me that is total bad news for such a person .
When seeking to please , we better make darn sure its GOD we aim to please .
Cause that which is pleasing to man is abomination to the HOLY GOD .
And yes we sure should do good unto all , specially those of the household of God .
But allowing sin and a false gospel , AINT GOOD it only works to destruction of said soul and the one who brought
the false doctrine . No matter if they t hought it was love . IT was not LOVE , NOT THE LOVE OF GOD ,
only the love of the world . Thanks for the reminder my friend .
I sure hope you heed mine as well . Cause just like the devil can say a truth like GOD is love
HE can also talk about caring , ONLY his version of caring ,while it migiht seem loving and caring
to this inclusive generation , I ASSURE US ALL its not . ITs jus satan doing as he always has ,
LEading them into deceptoin so as they can be DESTROYED .
