I'm sorry if you are still in "the flesh." I hope you don't think "the flesh" is your physical body. That would be dumb. After all Paul said,

Romans 8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

Where in Australia do you live? Do you know where Toowoomba is? That is where my mother is from.
Not in the flesh means not in the DOMINION of the flesh.

People who have the Spirit of God are no longer in the DOMINION, or under the authority of the flesh. This follows with what he was saying in chapter 6. And because this is true, don't let it have authority/dominion over you. You can't please God when you do that.

Romans 8:8-9
8Those controlled by the fleshd cannot please God.
9You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.

Romans 7:23-25 "But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.". KJV

And this is why we need to undergo the chastisements of the Lord......to put the flesh under and take more ground with respect to our lives/hearts.....and even our fruitful branches the Lord prunes to make them more fruitful. Different people are given different gifts and graces in the beginning when they come to faith in Christ....I think no one of us should assume that everyone's experience is the same as ours.
What I have noticed is many people who get miraculously delivered from drug and alcohol addictions, and adultery, etc. when they get saved endured the chastisements of the Lord before getting saved/born again. Much of the work of God in changing their mind about their sin happened in the time leading up to being born again. Failed marriages, prison sentences, lost careers - they have a way of changing a person's mind about their sin prior to salvation. Then there are those among us who endure the Lord's work of changing our mind about sin after we get saved. Sometimes believers aren't even aware of the sin that God works to change our mind about until after they are born again.

The bible says All things HAVE been put under the feet of Jesus, but we do not yet see all things put under Him. So there is a "yes, but not necessarily yet" to these things. Our old man HAS been crucified and yet we, or at least most of us, are still having to contend with our old man in some respect or other. Even though the devil was defeated at the cross, he still goes around seeking who he may devour.
Yes, the 'old man' is still around. It is his authority to bring us into submission, enforced by the law, that has been defeated. And it is through faith in God's word that he is no longer in charge that we can say, "not today, buddy."

Guilt is expiated with genuine sincere repentance. (But not if we were to keep on sinning knowingly and deliberately, because God will not be mocked. Someone who keeps on wilfully sinning when they have it in their power not to is trampling on the blood of Christ and treating it as an unholy thing........they are not being sincere and God knows it and will not be made a fool of....He will not allow His grace to be abused.)
Good explanation. :goodj:

And then preach to others to go there where you no longer can go yourself and if they don't they will end up in outer darkness!
That’s not what he teaches. Not at all. I dont know if you’re doing that on purpose or if that’s really what you perceive him to have said…

God knows mankind are sinners. But Jesus came to TAKE AWAY our sin from our nature.

I went to church for 30 years before Jesus TOOK AWAY my sin from my nature. I went from an adulteress to a child of God in an instant. I've been free from lawless willful sin ever since. Then comes the long process of maturing all the fruit of the Spirit. Jesus does both in us as the Author and Finisher of our two faiths.

Romans 1:16-17 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
you or he was sick sorry, but that is part of the addiction with porn. It turns into a sexual addiction,
It than sometimes takes on the alcohol part, and then when you get pompous you start the other
Then you have a husge mess by watching others struggle, not my personal struggle
Actually, it's because your beliefs are not Biblical.

For example, Acts 13:38-39 makes it impossible for you to argue that John is saying it is the sins that can not be forgiven under the law and required death that born again people can't commit and which makes them sinless and perfect. Because of Christ there is no more sin unto death for those who believe in his sacrifice. All sins are forgiven in this New Covenant (except of course the sin of blasphemy of the Spirit). That's how we know what you say is false.

"Why would you not want the ongoing guaranteed forgiveness and immunity from prosecution for sin that God has made available to you through the never-ending intercessory ministry of High Priest Jesus?

Dear sister,

Hebr 7:25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Rom 8:34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

Go to your life, count the battles against sin you fought and tell how you overcame, in your own strength only?

Could it be His intercession ?

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Let's give all praise to the Author of our faith, without the indwelling Holy Spirit we are nothing.
