Cant you read it. One does not have to follow after Christ to be saved, one needs to believe, teh one aboutThis question:
So according to the scripture (you didn't fully quote) we have to follow Him to be saved. It says nothing about being OSAS!! Why didn't you fully quote that passage?
lol i needed that.mjrhealth said:And which one will that B. And why are you shouting,???
Yup, once we believe we have eternal life...John 3:14-16 NIV, John 5:24 NIV, John 6:40 NIV, John 6:47 NIV, John 6:54 NIV, John 10:25-30 NIV, Acts 13:46-48 NIV, Rom 6:22-23 NIV, Eph 1:13-14 NIV, 1 Tim 1:15-16 NIV, Tit 1:1-3 NIV, Heb 9:12 NIV, 1 John 5:9-14 NIVmjrhealth said:Cant you read it. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
God has always kept a remanant. a group whom He knew would be faithfull to the end, God gave some to Christ, those who are His, who know His voice and follow afrer Him, yet there are many who do not follow after Christ who do believe and will be saved. It has nothing to do with following and everything to do with believing, Faith is what pleases God. Most christians do not follow after Jesus, because like that man they are not willing to "loose all", to have him.

The question "Why didn't you fully quote that passage" was in reference to your incomplete quote of Matthew....not Romans. So my question still goes unanswered.mjrhealth said:Cant you read it. One does not have to follow after Christ to be saved, one needs to believe, teh one about

Because it is irrelevant to the question..It wont change anything. The question "Why didn't you fully quote that passage" was in reference to your incomplete quote of Matthew....not Romans. So my question still goes unanswered.
Fair enough. You won't answer that question. How about answering this question.mjrhealth said:Because it is irrelevant to the question..It wont change anything.
They fell away because they had no root tom Matt 13:21 NIV. Christ is the root, and what Christ did on the cross for us is forever Heb 9:12 NLT.tom55 said:Fair enough. You won't answer that question. How about answering this question.
Here is the dilemma: according to the OSAS belief once you have started your walk somewhere along the line you realize you are saved which means you will NEVER fall away or you are guaranteed salvation. This means you have lost your free will because you can never do anything to loose your salvation. You know, the free will you once had when you chose to believe in Him and be saved....poof....gone!! That means you are saved you can never reject Christ and Christ can never reject you. (which means he lost His free will also)
I don't want this to sound harsh and I am not suggesting anyone do this but once you are saved, why keep living? Why not end your life and go directly to heaven? Why stay on this retched earth and pay bills, go to work, deal with the in-laws or fellow employee's or Mrs. Tom55?
(for future reference I will answer any question you pose to me)
No we have give ourselves to Him so He can get the glory, it is our choice to do so, You know this bit,This means you have lost your free will because you can never do anything to loose your salvation.
Not looking for an argument....just an answer to my legitimate question! But I am willing to move on.mjrhealth said:Sorry Tom. i did answer the question you jare just looking for an arguement, the answer "you" want not the one given. As for OSAS it has to do with Faith, you know, "believeing" God is able even when we are not, but I pose the question again," who believes God"? it seems not many do. It seems so rediculous that christians run around telling everyone that Jesus can save them than come on these forums and tell every one that He cannot.

Neverthe less, yet not my will but your will be done.
A bit of a conumdrum isnt it.

Because we have being given the oportunity to live for Christ, something the angels never got to do.I don't want this to sound harsh and I am not suggesting anyone do this but once you are saved, why keep living? Why not end your life and go directly to heaven?
Im stil lnot clear what it is i missed??Once again you didn't answer the question:
In heaven wouldn't you still have the opportunity to worship (live for) Christ and God along with the angels?mjrhealth said:Because we have being given the oportunity to live for Christ, something the angels never got to do.

I don't understand how you can say "we have to give ourselves to Him..... it is our choice to do so". What if I stop giving myself to Him? Am I still saved?
Once again you didn't answer the previous question:
I don't want this to sound harsh and I am not suggesting anyone do this but once you are saved, why keep living? Why not end your life and go directly to heaven?
I guess only those who have done that will know the answer.Scenario: If an OSAS believer decides to take their life so they can go to heaven, what would God say to them once they got there?
Not quiet the same thing, in heaven you dont have sin and the flesh to deal with, or hurt or pain or suffering or, well you hopefuly get the gist of it all.In heaven wouldn't you still have the opportunity to worship (live for) Christ and God along with the angels?
That's actually an incorrect interpretation of suicide.mjrhealth said:but one thing that I have learned is that suicide is the most selfish act anyone can commit because of the number of people who get hurt by your action.
It can be an incorrect interpretation based on the circunstances, but not always.ATP said:That's actually an incorrect interpretation of suicide.
Hopelessness is not a by product of selfishness, in any circumstance.FHII said:It can be an incorrect interpretation based on the circunstances, but not always.
God said he would not lay on a believer more than he could bear. God knows all and ordains all, but it seemslike you are not believing that if you check out early. He also said tgat all things work for our good.
not when you have being there.ATP said:That's actually an incorrect interpretation of suicide.
