I think the the context is John 1:11, the unbelieving Jews, many were called, few believed.
That's not the verse, Matthew 22:14 - For many are called and few are chosen. The Jews reject Jesus to this day. Jesus knew and made His apostles remember, what He said. The NT was written through God's providence to all believers.

True, nevertheless it is said to the unbelieving Jews. Are we unbelieving Jews?

John 1:11 - He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

The apostle John starts with the end conclusion, then provides the evidence, it's a theme, likewise in the 3 other gospels.

So, you don't believe the New Testament is for all believers only for Jews?

Of course not.

Scroll back, notice my reply on the word I colored red and said TRUE, thus in agreement what you said.

I have learned to discipline myself a) to read Scripture in context and b) as good as it can use my imagination to understand the situation when words are spoken. When Jesus said : For many are called, but few are chosen, start reading from verse 1 and notice the parable and what it says, the invited chosen people of God (Israel) did not come to the wedding feast. The king then said -

Matt 22:8 Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
Matt 22:9 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’
Matt 22:10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

Followed by : For many (Jews) are called, but few (Jews) are chosen.

What you described with being fat eating junk food being stressed out all the time you described my room mate and yeah he says he is christian but shows no fruits of it so he is constantly complaining and griping and even cursing a lot

Well, think of it this way.... you have in your life an example of what NOT to do and how NOT to be!

I have actually met the holy spirit and can attest he is male

Yep, and He's not wearing a dress either!

Yes, the word for "Spirit" (Ruach) in Hebrew is feminine

So you are claiming God is a gurl?

The devil's been spreading that rumor for years!

Miracles do still happen Aunty, but like Carl I am not going to boast about it.

Yeah them JWs won't be bothered with any form of the Holy Spirit moving among their ranks... the Lord does not back false doctrine with signs and wonders.

Yes you agreed with True, but diverged to the words are for Jews. Jesus' word are for the world, and Jesus took the promises and the law from Israel and gave it to another nation. Matthew 21:43 - “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. Jesus did not stutter, He meant all, Many are called, and only a few are chosen from the whole earth. Jesus said this in the final week on earth. So He was aware.

Miracles do still happen Aunty, but like Carl I am not going to boast about it.
I do not deny the fact that “miracles” still happen...what I question is the source of them.

Do you think that in the present circumstances, in the hopelessly divided churches of Christendom, that miracles should happen denominationally.....?..and with limited success?
Is that what we saw in the first century when there was just one Christian Faith to draw the people to? When all who came to Jesus were cured 100% with no failures....no excuses....and not performed on believers as the apostles did not use their gifts on themselves or each other.

The gifts were to demonstrate what would take place under God’s coming Kingdom....the healing of all maladies and the raising of the dead. Speaking in tongues was not mindless babble, but foreign languages that had to be interpreted or the disciple was to remain silent.

The miracles of the first century were for a time and a reason, and as Paul stated, there was a reason why they had to cease, because the apostles knew what was coming...an apostasy so vast that it would engulf the whole world, by the one who would sow seeds of a convincing counterfeit, and spread it globally by men easily corrupted by the power it gave them.

What was to identify true Christians in this time of the end? Paul said it was “Faith, hope and love”...not miracles. The fact that the devil has power and uses it to his advantage is demonstrated all through the NT.

God does not compete with the devil, but allows people to mislead themselves by supernatural events that satan can perform by making them look as if they come from God. His “angel of light” trick comes through his minions...his “ministers of righteousness” who are often fooling even themselves.

Satan has many disguises, and many willing dupes to do his bidding....spurred on by ignorance of the truth, and carried away by the power of these so called “miracles”....the devil wears a sheep suit and so do his ministers.....he has the majority of the human race practicing his false worship. (Matt 7:13-14; 21-23)

Christendom is the proof that everything Jesus said about “the wheat and the weeds” is what we see in the world in these final days. If we want to believe the delusion, (powerful false signs and wonders) God will let us.

2 Thess 2:9-12 ESV....
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

It’s not like we were not warned.....as Paul said in verse 3....”Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction”.

'Sole purpose of reproduction'...hmmm. Sounds limiting to me.
What ‘sounds’ like truth is accepted by the majority...but it’s not the truth at all, which is why “few” will be found on the road to life. (Matt 7:13-14) If only the “few” are on the right road....so, where are the “many”?

The only reason for gender in the whole of creation is for the perpetuation of their species. This is instinctive in all earthly creatures who procreate because they are programmed to do that. Gender is what makes that possible.....the right bits on the right gender, make that a reality since life began.
Obvious?
I know women can break stones and men can change nappies. I know women can fight and men kill each other.
Maybe you mean women like pink and men like any colour except pink?
Tell me what is 'obvious' to you AJ.
Since it was God who dictated the roles of male and female humans, right from the start, they were to be complimentary, not competitive. Each had a distinctive role to play.
I have chickens and a rooster and I can assure you that even these creatures know their place. The rooster knows his job and so do his girls.

Human behaviour after the fall is not a good benchmark for gender behaviour.
In male dominated societies, women have always been treated as chattels owned by men to do with as they please, but such was not that way at the beginning.

Look at what God said to the woman after she lost her perfection to disobedience.....
“To the woman he said: “I will greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in pain you will give birth to children, and your longing will be for your husband, and he will dominate you.” (Gen 3:16)

Was that not prophetic of the circumstances that resulted from their disobedient course? Each blamed someone else for their failure.....there was no remorse....only excuses. God does not accept excuses.

They had no reason to disobey, as if God was withholding something good from them.....but satan convinced the woman that he was, and she in turn persuaded the man to eat was was stolen from their Creator....representing his Sovereign right to dictate the terms of their life on this earth....to give them reasonable limits to their freedom, so that abuse could not take them away from his care. But disobedience separated them from him, and their lot in life changed dramatically.

They ignored him and did what they wanted to do. Satan was standing by, smiling at his achievement.....but God was going to give them all “enough rope” to prove that the devil was a failure as a god. They chose to obey the wrong god, and would learn first hand what happens when we step outside of the reasonable limits that Jehovah gives us.
Like defying the law of gravity...the consequences are swift and painful.....and often fatal. To survive a painful encounter with gravity makes one more careful in the future.

Experiencing the consequences of Adam and Eve’s failure will make mankind wiser in the future, as no one will ever want a repeat performance...least of all the Creator.

I do think we (gentiles) in general have it more easy and are more open to receive, we don't have to deal with the Law of Moses and a Jewish upbringing.

I'm glad the belief in gravity is in the consciousness of many. Imagine the carnage if the majority insisted on a different persuasion. :Broadly:

Ohhh AJ! too many words, far too many.
Are you not aware that I have taken your advice to not read them.....a long time ago.

A cursory overview confirms your rattling. The repetitions don't cease. I guess you assume you are talking to a grade school kid!

Those who like to challenge it are often confronted with its reality when their chute fails to open.
They relied on that to challenge a known law.....to flirt with it for their own pleasure.....

What are we relying on?

relying on? Intuition! do you think that's a valid guide.....or is it purely in ones head?
