What's interesting to me is that the "They can't all be right" thing often means they are all wrong because they don't conform to the wildly popular, armchair, non/anti-denominationalism that finds good nesting material in online Christian forums.

I admit I'm biased because of my Navy brat/Air Force vet background that lends itself well to organization and institution.

I don't think we can ever 'get it right' if we can't even 'get along'. I think it's fair to say 'we're all brain washed'. Some of us have studied harder to find out WHO washed them.

I see too many come to forums....not to LEARN, but to WIN. I have a T-shirt, given to me from my kids, that says GRUMPY OLD VET. I have another T-shirt that says DAV (Disabled American Veteran). Both are right. So when I come here I bring a sword that has the blood of many on it. And I believe there are 3 levels of righteousness.

1. SELF righteousnes
2.RIGHT righteousness
3. UN righteousness

If yours is SELF I'll cut your legs off. If yours is UN I'll cut your head off. WHY? To demand the respect to get your attention so you'll listen.

What do you do about other believers who disagree with you?
Did the Holy Spirit not reveal the true truth to them as well?
Are you then the arbitrator of true truth based on what you believe
the Spirit revealed to you? Are you infallible?

The Holy Spirit only reveals the truth to born again believers who have chosen to follow Jesus or to those who are sincerely seeking the truth. Jesus is the Truth.

But there is only One True Church and none of the traditional denominations can lay claim to be that. It covers all born again believers who have made the choice to follow Jesus.
