Some asked the Lord, "What are the works of God?" He answered: "The work of God is to believe on Him whom He has sent."
that's good, now as a natural man would he be able to do this work in believing him when Jesus said, Matthew 24:20 "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day". would a natural man reading this, and ..... "Believing" ... whould he understand what the Lord Jesus was saying? yes or no. if yes, what is he saying there?Some asked the Lord, "What are the works of God?" Irrelevant to me way down here in Upsidedown land, a world away from the Middle East.that's good, now as a natural man would he be able to do this work in believing him when Jesus said, Matthew 24:20 "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day". would a natural man reading this, and ..... Irrelevant?, that's what the scriptures said of the Natural man. God's word is relevant everywhere.Irrelevant to me way down here in Upsidedown land, a world away from the Middle East.
A random verse out of context is never relevant to anyone.Irrelevant?, that's what the scriptures said of the Natural man. God's word is relevant everywhere.
1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned".
another word for Foolishness is Irrelevant.
but you have a nice day.

Such a pity that Christianity is linked to Creco-Roman paganism with its robes, rituals and religious regime."...Who can know the mind of God?..."
First Reformed | Official Trailer HD | A24
It certainly remains a mystery to those without "eyes to see"! Need some of that eye salve!see reading the bible and understanding the bible is not the same. notice what he said is no mystery.

It is very true concerning the Roman Catholic church; and the Anglican church, though reformed, has retained the rituals, ceremonies and robes and crazy hats. Then we get the Presbyterian and Methodists who have robes and backward collars which are just a watered-down version of Catholicism.Such a pity that Christianity is linked to Creco-Roman paganism with its robes, rituals and religious regime.
Mat 20:25-28
(25) But Jesus called them unto him, and said, You know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
(26) But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
(27) And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
(28) Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Well said, Paul. My heart is warmed by your accurate exposition.It is very true concerning the Roman Catholic church; and the Anglican church, though reformed, has retained the rituals, ceremonies and robes and crazy hats. Then we get the Presbyterian and Methodists who have robes and backward collars which are just a watered-down version of Catholicism.
It is the mistaken notion that wearing a fancy hat, wearing a robe, and having ones collar turned backward gives a person greater authority concerning the things of God than ordinary people. But their authority doesn't come from God.
Of course, we need trained and competent pastors and teachers of the Word. There is no doubt about that, but they are more effective when they see themselves as servants to the flock, rather than jumped up peacocks believing they have special ears to God than anyone else.
Paul, the greatest Bible teacher and Apostle ever in the church referred to himself as "Paul, an apostle", not "Paul The Apostle", or "The Very Reverend Paul". The titles and labels that some clergy, bishops and archbishops give themselves are totally meaningless to God, and some of the most effective gospel preachers don't even have theology or Divinity degrees, but they are faithful to His Word and the Holy Spirit works with them to great effect.
But there is nothing wrong with having a theology or divinity degree, because the church needs well trained pastors and teachers; but it does not make a person closer to God or better than anyone else. It is that they have undertaken a formal and disciplined training course to do the job they need to do, just like anyone else such as an airline pilot or an architect.
So a person is who content just to refer to himself by his first name is showing his humility and demonstrating that his ministry is a role that the Holy Spirit has given to him, and would be more likely to be based on sound doctrine than some person with a high and mighty label that he has to demonstrate his "authority" over the common church member.
True, Oh so true! One needs to read the bible with an open mind.It is not that the natural man cannot understand what the Bible actually says. It is because he doesn't want to accept what it says about him and what he should do about it.
Such a pity that Christianity is linked to Creco-Roman paganism with its robes, rituals and religious regime.

'Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,How, then do you explain Paul's statement that the mystery that has been kept down through the ages (the sealed book?) has now been fully revealed? (Colossians 1:26).
It is clearly displayed in the Book of Romans. It is all there. There is no other gospel except what is described in that book.'Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ
in my flesh for His body's sake, which is the church:
'Whereof I am made a minister,
.. according to the dispensation of God
.... which is given to me for you,
...... to fulfil the word of God;
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
.. but now is made manifest to His saints:
.... To whom God would make known
...... what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles;
........ which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom;
that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: ... '
(Colossians 1:28)
Hello Paul,
Yes, this mystery was 'hid in God' (Ephesians 3:9), and revealed to Paul. Salvation had been sent to the Gentiles, the Lord was now 'in',
or, 'among' them: salvation was therefore no longer of the Jew only (John 4:22). Christ was now among them, their hope of 'glory', which is resurrection, their moment of glorification when they will appear with Christ in glory (Colossians 3:4) when He Himself will be made manifest .
This mystery is not to be found on the pages of Scripture, for it was 'hid in God' until its moment of Divine revelation to the Apostle Paul. Even now it requires the prayer of Ephesians 1:17+ and the spirit of wisdom and revelation, for it to be seen and acknowledged.
Praise God!

'Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.Join Us! You must Mortify the Flesh as does Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ!
'Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,It is clearly displayed in the Book of Romans. It is all there. There is no other gospel except what is described in that book.
'Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:
but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.'
(Romans 8:12-14)
'Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.'
(Col 3:5-7)
Hello @Elihoenai,
You are surely not advocating the actions portrayed in the video? (which I did not watch) For the word 'mortify', or 'put to death', is a work of faith, it is done by reckoning. Reckoning ourselves to be dead to sin but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. It cannot be done as a work of the flesh, but only by the reckoning which is of God by faith.
In Christ Jesus
Chris
