If you will stop using selective scripture reasoning(ssr) and RETURN to the WHOLE of Scripture, you will be BLESSEDYou failed to mention what 'point' the above is trying to make.
I have covered 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 EXACTLY how it is written. And if it is the TIMING issue you have complaints about, I follow what Paul said there also, which he declares the future RESURRECTION with that idea that the dead in Christ must rise first.
1 Thess 4:16
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
KJV
Is the raising of the dead not about the future RESURRECTION?
WHEN did Lord Jesus show the future resurrection will occur? He told us right here...
John 6:39
39 And this is the Father's will Which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
KJV
John 6:40
40 And this is the will of Him That sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
KJV
Thus Apostle Paul revealed in that 1 Thessalonians 4:16 verse that the day of Christ's future coming to gather His faithful Church will be on the LAST DAY of this present world. That means a POST-TRIBULATIONAL COMING.
So why are you not wanting to follow the above Bible Scripture as written?
#1 -EXAMPLE: 1 Thess 4:13-18
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words.
#2 -EXAMPLE: 1 Corinthians chapter 15 = the WHOLE chapter
If you are in NJ or within driving distance, we can meet up and have fellowship together in the WHOLE of Scripture.
It would be great!
