I see the prefix 'anti' as the Greek indicates, as meaning instead of, in place of. While it certainly is against, when it comes to the real Antichrist, it is against by means of replacing Christ in the minds of Christ's followers. They believe they are following Christ, but they are in reality following a counterfeit. Here's a link to an article I wrote explaining it more fully. Bear in mind that I am convinced, by both history and prophecy, that the Antichrist is already here, and been here since the 6 th century. The anti-christ cannot rise from the Church as the Church has been raptured out by that time. Perhaps he will have something to do with the apostate church which is left behind, but that is just a religious group, not the Church of Jesus Christ.
anti-christ is more 'anti' in reference to Israel, not the Church. The Jews will be ready to receive him whereas they rejected the true Christ.
