What other group or nation had prophets who said that their people would be exiled and scattered worldwide, and that they would remain a distinct, viable group of people, and that they would one day return to their ancient homeland and reclaim it as their own land? It was prophesied and hinted at in the Old Testament that the Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah, be born of a virgin in the town of Bethlehem, and it was fulfilled literally. Clearly then, not all things in Scripture are meant to be taken spiritually.
In one sense, yes, but not all of it has come to fruition yet and won't until Jesus returns. Just like Satan was defeated at the cross, but he still hasn't been thrown into the lake of fire yet.
Jesus provided the means and the way, but there is still a part we need to play. And there are still things that need to play out and a reconciliation that needs to happen with His covenant people.

No, context and what is applicable whenever it crops up, is a matter of fulfillment of what is written. History even repeats itself, as men have the same habits, make the same mistakes, and God repeats also as He did with Israel, for every generation, even daily, as the light is divided from the darkness evening and morning.

Your definition of "literal" is worldly. But as it is written, "which is greater?" The kingdom of God is greater and the standard is His, meaning His literal is not worldly as you seem to think what is literal is limited to.
As for what was and is seemingly literal in this world--we ought not think that these would-be literal bodies and things that were created "in the image of" but are passing away--is at all literal, but merely temporal. And have you not considered that Jesus was with the Father (spirit), merely became temporal flesh, then rose to be One again with the Father (spirit) firstfruits of the flesh...--oh, no, I said that wrong--but firstfruits of the Spirit? Think full circle!
But yes, the scriptures do address everything regarding the temporal world, so sure, not everything in the scriptures is to be taken spiritually-- Unless, those things written point to what is spiritual. In which case, you should ask yourself, Does anything in the scriptures actually not point to God who is spirit?

This is a HUGE topic. But again, I will point out that your perspective is only worldly.
To fully understand requires having a full understanding of time vs. the greater reality of God which is without time. That is not a topic that the world even has a grasp of as yet. I can tell you of it--the truth of it from God, but it would appear you are not ready to hear it. Even so, His world does not return void, and the truth from Him is out already--I have declared it, as it has been given to me by God to do so. Which if you fully accept how God reveals all things, and what His established method is, you might be receptive to it. Are you? Because how God has revealed all truth in the past, is how He continues to reveal the "all truth" as promised by Christ. He never changes.
But I will start with this: What did Paul, speaking words for God, mean when he referred to his being crucified with Christ in past tense? And if Christ is the salvation of all who are children of God, when was (past tense) Israel, if not saved by the Law, crucified with Christ?
I tell you--fully understanding all these things requires the "renewing of your mind." Which is by no coincidence what Paul who "was crucified with Christ" taught as much.
I say again-- Are you even ready for an "all truth" explanation of our transition between worldly and heavenly reality which was to come?
