Rev. 6:13 compares the stars of heaven to figs being cast to the ground before they are ripe. The comparison is very appropriate. In the Bible, the fig tree is the national symbol of Judah . Jeremiah 24 divides Judah into two groups of people: a basket of good figs and a basket of bad figs. The good figs are those who submit to God, even when God pronounces judgment upon the nation. The bad figs refuse to submit, thinking God wants them to fight God's “enemies” in order to retain their freedom. In Jeremiah's day God classed the majority of the people as bad figs, for they fought Babylon , instead of recognizing king Nebuchadnezzar as God's servant (Jer. 27:6) and instrument of divine judgment for sin. In Jesus' day God's servant was the Roman Empire . The majority of the Judean people again held the same view as their forefathers in Jeremiah's day. They chafed under Roman authority, believing that it was God's will that they be free. They wanted their freedom in order to be able to continue their empty and hypocritical worship in the temple, believing their own traditions and setting aside the divine law (Matt. 15:1-9). The point is this: there were two fig trees portrayed as Judah . One produced fruit so rotten that it could not be eaten. The other produced fruit that was very good. John the Baptist came, prophesying that the axe was laid to the root of the tree (Matt. 3:10 ), because any tree that does not bring forth good fruit was to be cut down and burned. The good figs, on the other hand, were represented by Jesus Christ and His followers. Those of this fig tree became the inheritors of the promises to Judah . Even as the evil fig tree was cut down, the good fig tree carried on the banner of Judah and became the legitimate tree of the tribe of Judah . For this reason Paul says in Rom. 2:28 and 29 that those who possess only the physical circumcision—Jews who had rejected Jesus Christ and remained part of the evil fig tree—were NOT Jews (Judahites) at all. Do we believe Paul? Likewise, those who had circumcised in their hearts ARE JEWS. (that is, Judahites, of the tribe of Judah ). The early Church began as the legitimate tribe of Judah , for they were loyal followers of the King of Judah, Jesus Christ, the legal heir of King David's throne. When the Church was scattered by persecution into other lands, many other people of different “trees” were converted to Christ. These “branches” of other trees were cut off from their former trees and grafted into this Judah fig tree. Soon the number of foreign converts exceeded that of the genealogical Judahites, so that this fig tree began to look like a “gentile church,” bearing peaches, pears, apples, and plums, with only a few branches bearing figs. Hence, men began to think of this tree as something other than Judah . But they were mistaken. What men call the “Church” is, in reality, the original fig tree of Judah with many other branches grafted into it. The Church, then, carries the banner of Judah . Those who remain unattached to Jesus Christ, the Root of this tree, are not true Judahites, regardless of their genealogy. And so, when Rev. 6:13 compares the stars of heaven (the overcomers) with the figs, it is no idle comparison. The overcomers are indeed the true Jews (Judahites). They may not all be descended genealogically from the tribe of Judah , but they all derive their sustenance from Jesus Christ, the King of Judah. They are the good figs of Judah . These are the ones cast down at an early age as unripe figs. These are the ones persecuted and worn down by the little horn of Dan. 7:21-25. Please read Isa. 34:4-5. We know Esau in the Old Testament butdo we know who he is today. Stay tuned and we will go on thatjourney tomorrow.Logabe

Some of what you say is true but you are again taking other things out of proper context and wrongly applying themRevelation 6:13 "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely [unripe] figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind." Word References:"untimely figs" - 3653 olunthos (ol'-oon-thos); of uncertain derivation; an unripe (because out of season) fig: KJV-- untimely fig. Notice these are stars that fall Stars are Angels in God symbolism (not mine) (Rev1:7) these stars are Satan and his angels they come to gather out of season This is what is also covered in the Parable of the tares do not be the first gathered (out of season)The trouble starts in heaven, as it is written in Revelation 12:7-9, where Michael casts Satan upon the earth. When Satan is gone, then there is peace in heaven, but woe to them on the earth for his destination is earth. These are the "untimely figs" which are harvested out of season. Jesus talks about this in Mark 13:24, and it this is covered also in detail in Rev. 12. This covers the second advent [coming of Christ], and these figs [people] who claim the name of Christ, yet do not know God's Word, nor His times and seasons. These people will be taken by the Antichrist [out of season]. Only God's elect will not be taken out of season, but will stand and wait. It is the elect who are overcomers this has no more to do with Judah than it does Christians both are included as is the rest of the World. The fig tree is the symbol of Isreal it puts forth leaves its a tree not just its fruit the bad figs are tares/kennites the good figs follow Christ, as you have said, but this is not just about Judah do you follow Christ ??Are you of Judah ? These things are written to the World/all peoples not just Judah. The fig tree Parable is about Israel as a nation reblooming sending out new shoots branches/leaves marking the beginning of the End Times Latter Days (our clock). God promises the generation that wittness's this event a Nation restablished /rebloomed after 2000 years will not pass away before his returnMay I ask a question do you write this stuff or just copy and paste some other mens/church interptation. I ask because you never seem to have a give a take conversation about scripture you just continullay post these sermons as if they are all right. Do you study the scriptures yourself or just these interptations of scripture? http://www.christianityboard.com/parable-f...10815#post10815

The only way to understand modern Zionism is by studying the Scriptures and by knowing some history. Jewish Zionism, as seen in its 19th century manifestation, is a gross violation of biblical law. Many Jews know this, and for this reason, there are millions of non-Zionist Jews. They demonstrate against Zionism in great force, but their efforts go unnoticed in the national news.Since most Christians do not study the law of God, they have blinded themselves to the fact that God does not support modern Zionism. Many Christians even believe that Jews are saved by following the law, while non-Jews are saved by forsaking the law. The absurdity of this doctrine only serves to make Christians ignorant of the lawlessness of Zionism, andso they end up supporting sin and justifying terrorism.Leviticus 26 is the law regarding the consequences of sin. God claimed the right to dispossess Israel from the land of Canaan, if they persisted in violating His law. Once dispossessed, God said that He would not allow them to return until they confessed their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers. More than that, they had to recognize that they had been acting with "hostility" (NASB) against Yahweh, the lawgiver. They had to recognize that this was why Yahweh, in turn, had acted with "hostility" against them by dispossessing them from the land.Lev. 26:40-42 says that only after they confess that Yahweh was righteous in His judgments, only when they recognized their iniquity, would God then remember His covenant. The biblical history of Israel and Judah, with all the captivities in the book of Judges, culminating with the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities, were all rooted in this particular law.Exodus 15:2 and Isaiah 12:2 tell us that Yahweh became our Yeshua ("salvation"). In other words, Yeshua (Jesus) was the Author of the Law given to Moses. He was known as Yahweh in His pre-incarnate state. Israel's hostility against Yahweh, then, was actually hostility against Jesus Christ all through biblical history. When this hostility manifested against Jesus in their New Testament rejection of Him, the result was another round of destruction and captivity from 70-73 A.D.This in itself proves that the law was not set aside, as so much theology claims. After all, if God sets aside His law, then there would have been no basis for divine judgment upon Jerusalem in 70 A.D. But history shows plainly that divine judgment did come, and it was based upon Leviticus 26.The reason for that judgment is seen 40 years earlier, when Judea as a whole showed "hostility" to Jesus Christ. His ministry extended from the death of John the Baptist at Passover of 30 A.D. to His crucifixion at Passover of 33 A.D. Forty years later, the Romans began the siege of Jerusalem at Passover of 70, and the war ended with the taking of Masada at Passover of 73 A.D. The Idumean (Edomite) converts to Judaism were some of the most rabid zealots fighting the Romans, as Josephus tells us. A second revolt from 132-135 A.D., known as the Bar-Cochba revolt, only caused a second disaster. Rabbi Akiva had pronounced Bar-Cochba the promised Messiah, and the people were thus led to destruction. They were willing to follow a false messiah, while rejecting the true Messiah. After this disaster, the rabbis taught the people that they ought to submit to captivity and not return until the true Messiah comes. This became the standard teaching of Judaism until the rise of modern Zionism.Logabe

For 1800 years the descendants of those people continued to show hostility to Jesus Christ, and so their dispersion continued unabated. Finally, however, toward the end of the 1800's, some of them got tired of the waiting game. They believed that God was being unjust with them, and it made them very bitter. With the rise of Jewish money power in the 1800's, particularly the power and influence of the Rothschilds, some saw no reason to wait for a messiah who would never come. They began to formulate plans to return to Palestine without the messiah in direct violation of both the divine law and the teachings of Judaism.I do not believe that Zionism would have been successful, if it had been based purely upon the "claim" of Judah (or even Israel) to the land of Palestine. If the Zionists had been acting in the name of Judah or Israel, the law in Lev. 26:40-42 would have stopped them in their tracks. They would have experienced another disaster similar to those of 70 and 135 A.D. But they did have a trump card, and this is the reason God allowed them to succeed. That trump card was God's promise to Esau-Edom. God still owed Esau more time to prove his unworthiness to receive the birthright. Jacob had cut that time short when he deceived his blind father into passing the blessing to him in Genesis 27. Isaac recognized this, and so he blessed Esau, saying in verse 40, "when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his (Jacob's) yoke from off thy neck."Thereafter, Esau hated Jacob and plotted to get back that which he had lost. The problem was that he also refused to repent and be obedient to God. In other words, he wanted the blessings of God on his own terms and wanted the dominion mandate to rule the world without having to rule in love and righteousness. He refused to recognize that the dominion mandate came with the responsibility to rule impartially. Certainly, he did not believe Jesus' teaching that to be great in the kingdom meant being the greatest servant. No, Esau wanted to be the master and make everyone else his slave. In Malachi 1:1-4 we find Esau-Edom coveting the land of Canaan and plotting to "return." God says in verse 4, "they shall build, but I will throw down." In other words, the day would come when Esau would indeed be allowed to return for a season and to build their nation. But in the end God would tear it all down, and then they would be known as "the people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever."The Edomite element within Judaism has thus manifested in the modern world under the banner of Zionism. They could not return under the banner of Judah, but God did allow them to return as Edomites because of the promise to Esau. In 1948 the heirs of Jacob gave back the birthright and dominion to the heirs of Esau. We call it the "State of Israel," not because it is actually the biblical people of Israel, but because the name Israel was the birthright name. When the birthright was returned to Esau, then Esau obtained the right to use that name.In Malachi 1:3 God says, "I hated Esau." This sounds terrible, but in fact it was a statement of divine mercy, for it placed Esau under the protection of the law of the hated son in Deut. 21:15-21. The law forbids a man to give his birthright to a younger son. If he loved that younger son and hated the older one, he was not allowed to bypass the hated son, except, of course, if he had lawful cause to do so. For this reason, this law is followed by the law of the rebellious son in verses 18-23.For example, Reuben was the oldest son of Jacob, but he was replaced for defiling his father's bed (1 Chron. 5:1). There was lawful cause for him to lose the birthright, which was then given to Joseph.Jacob's deceit caused Esau to lose the birthright before he had fully proven himself to be unworthy of it. So God owed him more time to prove himself. Thus, God allowed the Edomites within Jewry to succeed in their Zionism. They achieved their goal through terrorism and have been manifesting the carnal mind of Esau since the beginning. They are willing to obtain the land by murder and theft. Their oppression of the Palestinians is what we would expect from Esau.Logabe

In recent years the mantra of Zionists, both Christian and Jewish, has been to oppose the creation of a Palestinian state on the grounds that it is unlawful to "divide My land." I believe they are quoting from Ezekiel 36:5, which says in the KJV, "against Idumea, which have appointed My land into their possession." The word "appointed" means to give, to appropriate, or to divide. These people argue that it is wrong to divide God's land among people other than Jews on the grounds that God has given only Jews the land of Palestine.Strangely enough, Ezekiel penned those words while writing a prophecy against Idumea, which is the Greek form of the name Edom. In other words, it is the Edomites who are guilty of "dividing My land." Just who are those Edomites? The Zionists apply it to the Palestinians, but there is no historical proof that the Palestinians are Edomites. As every historian knows, the Edomites (Idumeans) were conquered and absorbed into Jewry in 126 B.C. by forcible conversion. Virtually all Jewish historians agree that this ended the Idumean nation totally, and that "Edom is in modern Jewry."Thus, Ezekiel 36 is about the Jewish occupation of Palestine, NOT the Palestinian desire to remain there. The Palestinians did not divide the land. The Edomite Zionists divided the land, appropriating it for themselves first by immigration and then forcibly appropriating Palestinian land by military means. So Ezekiel 36 describes it:" (1) And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say . . .Take note that the prophecy is directed toward the land itself. So when the text uses the term "you," it is referring to the land." (2) Thus says the Lord God, Because THE ENEMY has spoken against you [the land], 'Aha!' and 'The everlasting heights have become OUR POSSESSION,' (3) therefore, prophesy and say. . .Who is this "enemy"? The enemy is defined in verse 5, as well as in the entire previous chapter." (5) Therefore, thus says the Lord God, 'Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey.' (6) . . . Thus says the Lord God, 'Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you [the land] have endured the insults of the nations.Logabe

The rest of the chapter is a prophecy of the regathering of the House of Israel--that is, the northern tribes of Israel, who were the birthright nations. It is not talking about the regathering of Judah.Actually, Ezekiel 34 and 35 are a single prophecy about Edom, so really, one ought to begin a bit earlier to get the bigger picture. Chapter 34 makes it very clear that Edom has replaced Israel by possessing the land in the absence of the House of Israel. Ezekiel 34:2 shows that it is a prophecy against "Mount Seir," which was the territory of Edom in ancient times. Ezekiel prophesies that Mount Seir would become a wasteland and a desolation (vs. 7). It is not a pretty picture. The reason for this divine judgment is found in verse 10," (10) Because you have said, 'These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them'. . .This was speaking of Israel and Judah, whose lands were coveted by Esau-Edom." (11) Therefore as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you according to your ANGER and according to your ENVY which you showed because of your HATRED against them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. (12) Then you will know that I, the Lord, have heard all your REVILINGS which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, 'They are laid desolate; they are given to us for food.' (13) And you have spoken ARROGANTLY against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard."And so God prophesies against the arrogance and revilings of the Edomites. He is saying that the Israeli state, by which Edom has appropriated God's land for his own "food," will ultimately be judged and destroyed and made a desolation. The Zionists have twisted this prophecy by applying it to the Palestinians or other people, when in fact, it is specifically applicable to the Zionists and the Israeli state itself. The Jewish Encyclopedia, 1903 edition (which I have in my office), says this under the heading of Edom:"Judas Maccabeus conquered their territory for a time (B.C. 163) . . . They were again subdued by John Hyrcanus (c. 125 B.C.) by whom they were forced to observe Jewish rites and laws . . . They were then incorporated with the Jewish nation, and their country was called by the Greeks and Romans 'Idumea' . . . From this time the Idumeans ceased to be a separate people, though the name 'Idumea' still existed (in) the time of Jerome."There are hundreds of such statements in all history books dealing with Idumea, written by both Jews and non-Jews. And yet most Christians are blind to the fact that Edom is now represented by Jewry and is the only candidate left on earth to fulfill the biblical prophecies of Edom-Idumea.Christians have largely missed the point that Esau-Edom coveted the land which he lost when Jacob tricked his blind father into giving it to him. This deceit was the cause of the long blood feud that has existed from the beginning between Jacob and Esau. It is called in Isaiah 34:8, "the controversy of Zion." That is a chapter about Edom and its ultimate destruction by what appears to be a nuclear disaster. Read it for yourself.Esau has been a Zionist throughout history. This is proven by Malachi 1:4. Obadiah is a short book dealing with the divine judgment upon Edom. The only truly relevant question is this: WHO IS EDOM TODAY? No one can present a single scrap of historical evidence that proves Edom to be any modern nation other than the Israeli state. And the fact that Edom was to "return" to that old land, as Mal. 1:4 prophesies, makes it doubly clear that this has been fulfilled by the Zionist "return" in the past century.Logabe
