Continuing the above explanation, there are many references that can be made to Christ as the story of Jacob and Esau continues. But mainly, the distinction to be noted is that there are seed born unto Adam as a man of sin, and also to those who are born of the Substitute.
maybe Why have You forsaken Me might even get a little clearer for someone today

To understand a bible lesson, first comes the natural(Esau) then the spiritual(Jacob). Just as we were born first natural, then through Christ, became spiritual.
no offense, not a bad diff lesson at all, but imo you need to identify what the red stew reps here, to understand the lesson of Esau, who was not condemned until he refused to allow Israel to pass through

but ya, we all start at Esau, even if we are assured otherwise, imo

might seem that im like just being coy or something but see, ive already said, and no one can hear it like that, marks. Its just something that one has to work out i guess, in the context of Jewish/ Christian, OT/NT, sacrifices/I detest your sacrifices, like that
Coy. Hm, yes, I suppose it does seem that way. No one, eh? OK. Thank you for your replies!

Much love!

God declares what is fair, of course! :)

He will treat us all fairly, I believe, even so, the old and new covenants work differently.

Much love!
Understand, if you can, the cited verse Luke 12:48 in this connection. How does it fit in with God is no respecter of persons? "Much is given, much is required!" If we, under a New Covenant, have been given more than those under an Old Covenant, would not God expect and require of us More than of them? God has the whole story. How much does each one of us have? What are we doing with what we have? What happens with any part we have wrong? Who among us always has it all right?

What do you suppose Oswald Chambers meant here? "It is the good that hates the best, and the higher up you get in the scale of the natural virtues, the more intense is the opposition to Jesus Christ."

The pride of man has no upper limit, and must defend itself from all.

And yet the New Covenant is built on better promises. Why would God do that to those of the first covenant?

Are you suggesting we must fulfill a more stringent Law having been delivered from the Law? Salvation is by Grace through faith, isn't that so?

Much love!

yes, bc Esau needs a sacrifice to make him feel that Yah is ok with him, marks
or he thinks that he will die
so no, no change whatever, really
Thank you, this helps me understand where you are going with this better.

Jesus offered His body in death for us. Are we agreed on that? So that we can join Him in His death and therefore know life in Him. Agreed here?

Did Esau think he needed to feel better about God? Was Esau looking for God's approval? In his histrionics?

Much love!

Why, oh why, do you imagine that Yah requires any sacrifice to make you acceptable to Him, Scott;
8Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breezeb of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9But the LORD God called out to the man, “Where are you?”
10“I heard Your voice in the garden,” he replied, “and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”
11“Who told you that you were naked?”

Esau needed red stew or he felt he would die.
And so thats what Esau gets
The red is as the red blood of man and beast which it was forbidden to consume. But it is the white blood, the blood of Jesus [Not from the body of flesh dying on the cross] poured out on the day of Pentecost as per Acts 2 which is Life. The red is simply more death and that is what it seems many have found stayed right there.

Methinks that you still missed the point. Consider here the words of John the Baptist:

"He must increase, but I must decrease" [John 3:30] and ask God to help you apply them to yourself.

Consider what Jesus did:

"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." Luke 2:52

Who can do that alone? Jesus told us to ask for help, did he not? When should we stop asking?

There's no disagreement here! Put off the old man, and put on the new. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, adding to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, I'm preaching to the choir!

Much love!!

All about Esau

God knows what is best, but human beings make their own decisions, which can lead to disaster most of the time.

God did bless Esau with life, just like Pharaoh, in Egypt.

i would guess that Esau applied his understanding to Yah, and therefore naturally assumed that Yah wanted blood
If Esau is called a profane man, did he really care what God may or may not want? I know that he married outside their family because he knew it displeased his father, would he have cared about God any differently?

In interested, what do you see in Esau that he would assume Yah wanted blood? I know this was before the Law, including the commandments for sacrifices. Perhaps he was thinking of Abraham and Isaac, his father?

Much love!

well, it appears that he felt he needed some red stew, or he would die
I know that he married outside their family because he knew it displeased his father, would he have cared about God any differently?
ha, even the marrying outside the fam…anyway, i would want to know whether or not you are waiting for Jesus to do anything etcetc the q above, to reply to this

what do you see in Esau that he would assume Yah wanted blood?
what is red stew in that analogy, marks
or, why did Adam hide
or, why did Jonah sit under the bush whatever,
all the same

well maybe not, i dunno
are you waiting for Jesus to do something so that life as you understand it can begin?
No.

Life as I understand it is knowing my Creator. Having conversations with Him. Living in a reality that, though largely unseen, is vastly different than what I knew before. It's watching how He works with me, developing me, seeing how He is in everything.

I heard a good thought on the radio the other day. Giving your attention to someone is an act of giving, of generousity. We set ourselves aside and give our attention to another. And I truly appreciate the time you spend with me, you and all the others here!

God's attention to me is continuous, life now means living in that, and giving my attention to Him.

And if you are asking me, yes, this has begun, and thank you for asking, because anyone who has not begun is totally missing out!

Much love!

well, it appears that he felt he needed some red stew, or he would die
It could still be a hearty meal to a famished and volatile man, who cared only for his belly . . .

what is red stew in that analogy, marks

or, why did Jonah sit under the bush whatever,
all the same
I'll need to give some thought to give you a better answer . . .

First impressions, God gave Jonah the shade to take it away, and prove a point. Jonah sat there for his own comfort. Adam hid because he didn't understand God, but "knew" his own evil.

We'll see what brews overnight, time for me to go. Back tomorrow Lord willing!

Much love!

It says in the Bible that Esau despised his birthright.

Either way it goes, all of these things played into Jesus Christ coming about eventually.
