The difference in trying to live the scriptures and knowing the word is working in you. You must divide between the two! The scriptures are going to reveal to you what it is working in you. Say it like this; The scripture is the letter of the law. Scriptures condemn.. not all scripture. But have you ever been reading along in scripture and all the sudden condemnation comes on you. You have to be honest, because that is what they do.. it is the way the letter works in you, to get you to see you need the word working in you, not just the letter of the word. If you ever feel like you a good dose of condemnation pick up the scriptures and start reading (I'm being a little facetious but).
Now that is not all scripture but scripture will condemn it's readers. Why do you think people don't like reading the bible. Several reasons, but the main reason is they don't want that feeling. They have no idea what scripture is for, and trying to relate to them - to get across to it's readers, and therefore have no idea where, or what they need out of what is written as a love letter to mankind.
God making contact with humanity.. if you will, the spirit world manifest in the natural world by the word. Now we can see the word several different ways as well. But we need to see the word as what scripture describes as a person. God with us.. Emmanuel.. and all the plan and purpose of God dwells in the word. The godhead bodily!
Follow through with Paul and see what he says is working in you.. a far greater work of glory he said in one place! Read what scripture tells you is working in you. Trust me you do not want the scriptures that are not working a far greater work of glory! know your scripture.. yes your scripture that is written, and pinpointed to what works in you.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. - Colossians 2:9.
