The Symbiotic Relationship Between
The Living Word, & the Communicated Word:

The communicated word of God that we have today is the Bible.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11).​

Jesus (the Living Word) was sent by the commandment (mouth) of the Father. Jesus said and did everything the Father told Him to do (John 12:49) (John 14:31).

What is interesting is that the Living Word accomplished that which the Father commanded Him to do and to prosper (accomplish) that thing He sent to do (i.e. Jesus suffered on the cross, and said, “It is finished” and died for man’s sins). Jesus was risen three days later, and ascended to the Father. God’s Word (the living Word) did not return void by whom the Father sent.

The communicated Word can also be sent out and not return void, as well. For many have believed and have stayed faithful to what God’s Word says.

In the creation: The Word made flesh (John 1:1, John 1:14) (i.e. Christ) created everything. In the beginning God spoke words to bring forth the creation in six days (Genesis 1:1-31).

So in the beginning was the Living Word, and the communicated Word.

In the end of this sinful world: Christ will return (Revelation 19:11-21) and a sharp sword will proceed from His mouth. This sword could be the “sword of the Spirit,” (Which is the Word of God) or it could be symbolic of such (Ephesians 6:17).

So in the end there will be the Living Word, and the communicated Word.

For at Christ’s return: His name is called The “Word of God.” (Revelation 19:13) (Living Word).

On His thigh, and vesture is a name written (words) “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Communicated Word).

Jesus was beaten to a pulp and crucified on a tree.

The Word we have today (the Bible) is a result of pulp made from a tree.

Jesus was the Word made flesh (covered in skin).

The Word we have today (the Bible) is popular to be available covered in skin (leather).

Words on the page hang on this tree (paper) (the Bible),
just like the Living Word hung on a tree (the cross).

Any form of a communication by words is a
"communicated word."

According to the Bible: While the exact words, “Communicated Word” are not in the Bible, the concept or idea of the “Communicated Word” is mentioned in Scripture. The Communicated Word is either:

(a) The spoken Word of God (Which is hearing the voice of God directly, or hearing the prophets, and or the apostles speak), and:

(b) The written Word of God (Which was done on scrolls made out of papyrus, animal skins, etc., and eventually the printed Bible that we have today). ​

When we speak of the communicated Word, we have to take in view of how a written passage in the Bible was spoken for it's time and how it would be applicable for us today. Even if we know of how God spoke audibly to create everything in six days (like in Genesis 1), we would not even know about such an event if it was not for Scripture (or the Bible) that we have in our hands today. We know of this by the progressive growth of the communicated Word.

Here is an illustration I created on the progressive growth of God's communicated word:

While God can answer prayer, and get our attention with life situations, and He can convict us by His Spirit of our sin, or let man know of His existence by creation, when it comes to the important matters of the faith: God primarily speaks to us with the Bible today.

The point here is that the Bible (you hold in your hands today) shows us connection between the Living Word and the Communicated Word. This communicated Word is progressive (speaking to the people of its time and for us today).

Another interesting tidbit of information to show you the connection between the "Living Word" and the "Communicated Word" is that the words:

1. "Jesus Christ"
2. "book(s)" (i.e. both the word "book" and "books").
3. "son of man."

Each appears 196 times.

The words Jesus Christ appears 196 times in the King James Bible.
The word book* (include the asterisk) appears 196 times in the KJB.

Anyways, what is interesting is that the last occurence of the the "son of man" is Revelation 14:14.

14 x 14 = 196.

(Exodus 16:4).

Exodus 16 is the 66th chapter in the Old Testament.

The bread spoken of here is not only metaphorically and prophetically speaking ahead of Jesus Christ (the Living Word) being the bread of life in John 6:33-35, but it's also referring to the "Communicated Word," as well.

"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."
(Deuteronomy 8:3).

In Luke 22:19, we read this:

Luke 22 is the 66th chapter of the New Testament.

So the 66th chapter in the Old Testament talks about the bread of life (Jesus) and our daily bread (the word) (Note: There are 66 books in the Bible).

Okay. So the 66th chapter in the New Testament talks about Jesus and they are eating bread (Which is symbolic of eating the Living Word and the Communicated Word). In Luke 22:19, Jesus says, " This is my body which is given for you" (Living Word); And Matthew 4:4 says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." I have expressed elsewhere on other threads on obedience to the Lord. That’s not really the exclusive topic of this thread. I am also not expecting you to understand this topic seeing you are JW (Jehovah’s Witness). Note: Please don’t defend your beliefs here. That is not the topic of this thread.
