Why does this description seem to fit Charismatics and not mainline Churches?
Perhaps it does to you, but ultimately it is not what you or I decide, but what God has already decided. Who can know what that is?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.[Genesis 1:1] Right off the bat, the Holy Spirit moves Moses to right that in the very first sentence in the bible. God puts emphasis upon Whom it was who created all that we see, and even that which we do not see.

Carry this over to In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.[John 1:1-5] This is referring to the Christ, God the Son, the second Person in the Triune Godhead. Because later on it says And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.[John 1:14] This verse supports vss 1-5 and tells is the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So this Word is God.[John 1:1]

For further proof the Christ is God “YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;[Hebrews 1:10] So, Moses, John, and the writer of Hebrews, all agree that the Christ is God.

agreed, Jesus Christ is God, but not a second person in a trinity.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.[Genesis 1:1] this is correct, now this, Isaiah 42:5 "Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein".

here clearly it is the "LORD" all caps who created the heavens and the earth. one more, Isaiah 45:18 "For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else".

Once again, it is the "LORD" all caps who created the heaven and the earth.

Now are you ready to say that Jesus is the "LORD"? yes or no.
