I mean if you agree that only the direct quotes of God and Jesus are Scripture, then yes, you would agree with him. Which would also make you a heretic.
hmm, guess it depends upon how one defined Scripture, but i do get the desire for a distinction there, even if i dont agree. Many passages are i guess not meant to be taken as advice or out of context, The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars, and the…pov? of Ecclesiastes takes some work, huh? But i would say that it’s nonetheless all “Scripture”
along with some vv you surely arent too comfy with yourself tho lol

I think it was wrong for Paul to forbid women from speaking in churches. For that matter, I think it was wrong for Paul to claim men have authority over women. As Quietthinker pointed out, men don't even have authority over themselves.
well Bob then for now you might just recognize that it was the same guy who said there are no…male nor female in the kingdom, and contemplate what he may have meant for yourself. Fwiw i suggest that these areas of apparent contradiction are where understanding is learned; your definition of “churches” might change, “women,” even “authority”

after all, we do have a pretty common thing—in all cultures that i have witnessed, even Oriental, where it is the most hidden, in my experience—where the men may be the ostensible heads (of a marriage), but the women are acknowledged in a certain way…

Unity of faith!

“Bible alone” is the cos of division / confusion:

Not opposed to the Bible, but the doctrine of the “Bible alone” is the only authority, or the Bible and the teaching authority of Christ in His church founded on Peter and his successors! Matt 16:18-19 Matt 28:19 Lk 1:4 acts 1:8 acts 8:31 acts 2:42

Who is the arbiter of truth!

You can decide.
You can decide what is true.
You can decide what is truth.
You can decide right and wrong.

Not one of these are found in scripture!

Found in scripture!
Taught is found 79 times
Instructed is found 19 times
Instruction is found 33 times

Jn 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Lk 1:4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Colossians 2:7
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught…

Matt 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

1 Tim 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
