We do not have confirmation either way. Interestingly, the German barbarians were very much influential in forming Rome, even at the time of Christ. That would be the true pagan king of the north. It could even be the lost ten northern tribes that made up that barbarian influence. Can we even be sure of who remained influential from Babylon and on? There was even an isolated group of "Israelites" in China up until the 1800's that still had the tabernacle of Moses as the center of their society. So which tribes or combination of tribes settled in the area known as Germany and Poland and northern Europe was not retained. They were only referred to as barbarians. I am not saying Rome never existed. I am saying that Daniel only covered in detail Greece and the hellenization of Palestine prior to Christ. Daniel did not cover Germany, Rome, the Holy Roman Empire, nor France, Spain, Austria, Anglo-Saxon, nor the British Empire, much less Europe or Asia of today, and tomorrow.

Some people have claimed that in Daniel 7, he was talking about England, the British Empire, including the United States. Then Russia is the bear that takes over 3 European nations, perhaps, Poland, Germany, and Ukrane, the three ribs. Then Islam is the terrible beast that gets the best of the other two: England/USA and Russia. I mean, we are seeing, even this week, the aftermath of the Taliban after Russia tried to tame it, and the US tried to tame it. But Daniel 7 is hardly about Rome and the first century.

Satan started to work behind the scenes with Greek leaders and the Greeks in general. Saying Rome restrained how Satan was working behind the scenes is a stretch. That is like saying Satan has been calling the shots in the US for all Presidents since Abraham Lincoln, but the republican presidents restrained Satan, while the Democrats allowed Satan to work openly. Although both sides did as they were told.

The RCC is a harlot for sure . but the problem with most reformers is that they clung to some false doctrine themselves .
They aint no moutain . nar is super deadly , it and its seven moutain theology may as well be the social gospel in the works .
The churches have tanked . But GOD knows the true lambs who are HIS CHURCH , The true body of CHRIST .

let me leave us all with a saying . You can take the people out of the RCC , but the RCC still held captive in some forms many a reformers heart .

Where is the church mentioned in Revelation 13? This is still a future event. How can it literally apply to any other time in past history?

Overcoming can be applied to the spiritual struggles of every day life. Not necessarily any certain point in history. Those in concentration camps during world war 2 struggled every day to stay alive until the end, and not all were successful. That is not really the application to apply to God's Word. Saying one should just endure until the end of the tribulation is the same thing as applying it to a specific time frame like the holocaust.

Applying it as spiritual would not apply to the physical body being saved. It would mean one remained spiritually true to God like Job did, when he was tested. So even if this physical body dies, it was the soul that was saved. In the case of the trib when the choice is made to worship Satan or having one's head cut off, that would not be physically enduring, that would be ending one's physical life to remain spiritually true to God. Either way, the endurance is about the soul being faithful to God, not us being faithful to this physical body.

As far as Rev. 13, the Church is introduced in Revelation 12, and continues in 13. "other offspring."

What do you mean by past history? This is talking about the future Great Tribulation and the saving of Israel. We in the Church are still present through it. The saving of Israel is adding them to the Church, not a separate entity.

The church is not in Revelation 12. Israel is. Revelation is written to churches about the nation of Israel and the reconciliation of the Lamb. The only reason Satan is found in Revelation is because the final harvest cannot be completed at the 7th Trumpet.

The 7th Trumpet cannot be past history.

Why would the church be part of Israel's reconciliation? The church has been a part of Christ from the Cross. The church should not be jealous of a prodigal's return, nor felt left out when not invited into the time of Jacob's trouble.
