Hi there,

So just to make clear, the difference between the man of sin and the Lord: a sword proceeds from the mouth of the Lord, but a spear proceeds from the mouth of the man of sin. What does this spear do? The spear has three effects: doubt, that we doubt our salvation; unrest, that we not be satisfied with our works; and ignominy, that we eschew having a reputation in this world. It can be deflected by the shield of faith. The point is, that we have a reason to work together, for the cause of the Lord, as One. Alone we can be picked off, but together we can stand strong. This is the purpose of the Bride of Christ, that She also be a Warrior, at the site of the battle of Armageddon, with Her Lord.

There are therefore two things that could endanger the Christian, as pertains to the end: one is believing influence with the world is enough, to bring about a relationship with God - "the things that are exalted in the sight of men are an abomination to God" (Luke, rough quote) just calling yourself Christian, but not living the Christian life is not enough; the other is believing the enemy can be slain with something other than Word - coming at the enemy materially, will not overcome him. These two things are a snare. The Lord makes example of Himself, that He does not attempt to have influence over the world, nor does He come at the enemy with something other than Word. The enemy is not discerning enough, to separate us from our Word and if we are humble, his spear cannot come near us. Sadly, many think they have a reputation to defend, albeit on the Church's behalf and many more over seek life in the scriptures, but do not understand that they are about Jesus.

There is something inelegant about the spear that proceeds from the mouth of the man of sin, too; nowhere in scripture does it say that the man of sin discerns scripture correctly. The Devil is aware of scripture, that it limits him; and the false prophet abounds in scripture; but the man of sin receives power as of a king, therefore he trusts that scripture is for him, but he does not necessarily discern what it is. If our faith contradicts us, then we are weak, for the shield of faith will not deflect the blow of the man of sin's spear - we will need to come to our senses, repent and take up our shield again. We can do this, it is a muscle that should be exercised, praise should go to God, that we stand in righteousness. If we are with the brethren in the cloud of witness, then our exposure to a fatal wound will not be made final. The Healing that is in Jesus being paramount!

The thing to remember, is that the man of sin, dwells on Earth - He cannot actually reach Heaven, only sweep through it with a short sword that he keeps at his side. There is no "word" there - in Heaven - to him. Overcoming him, then, will be a great strength, particularly for scripture. Those who are born of scripture will begin to increase and the reach of their righteousness will be greatest from the outset, because they have trusted the Lord. And that is the key: trust - the man of sin tests our trust of the Lord, that our love is for Him in His Word. We are supposed to be ready to endure to the end, in Word, that our works are established in a specific Word from God - recognizing His Glory in our works, because we first endure. The brethren will be rewarded for their works, those that exhort works even so, to an extent. So be ready, brothers, the time is at hand!

I hope you are able to confess your sin and turn to the Lord, God bless you.
