There are 3 creations in 2 Peter 3

5For they willfully forget that there were heavens from of old, and an earth formed out of water and amid water by the word of God, 6by which means the world that existed then, being overflowed with water, perished.

Second creation destroyed by fire
7But the heavens that exist now and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Third Creation never destroyed
13But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

Something interesting I found, really goes against the whole "two creation model" that's proposed in eschatology circles. Let me know what you can get out of this discovery!

What you have discovered is not another creation per se, but rather the two (the old and the new) made manifest in this world as a revelation from God. (Which would actually make four creations, if you counted both those on earth as it is in heaven).

As it is written, "Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Isaiah 42:9

I Agree as I'm a preterist as well, I think this observation does damage to the literal, futurist paradigm.

Everything I see concerning Jerusalem(s) demise, concerning 70. I tend to find in the Old Testament… Like Gods wrath falling upon the house of Israel… a material onslaught to be seen. Just as Yahavah filled the temple with smoke to be “seen” and out of the chute many would praise the LORD for...

April 14th? 70ad, The roman army hemmed up the gentile and jewish people that had come to visit the temple passover which was happening. And they so likewise died in said manner, including that of being set ablaze and fire... cause their whole world was going to be wiped out.

The same creation is destroyed by water and then the fire....Noahs day and Jesus second personal intervention coming day.
