She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.”

18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.

My mind did a weird thing also when I read it. Here in the US, the place you go to get health insurance is now called the marketplace. Don’t know…just what my mind saw when it said they dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace…

I believe she was relating the passage to the time of the end/tribulation and thinking mighty men will perform miracles similar to that casting out of a demon in the passage, which made men mad, because the miracle took away their “cash cow.”

I can see it.
Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined by these trials. But the wicked will continue in their wickedness, and none of them will understand. Only those who are wise will know what it means.

I vaguely remember a verse about men doing mighty deeds…can’t find it.
And also, the 2 witnesses will perform a miracle that will make everyone want to kill them.

Sometimes seeing it does not mean you can easily put it into words… lol

IF this whole thing was the precursor to the mark of the beast, which I think it could be...

1. I think we would go before that time. I don't believe we would be here.
2. BUT if we didn't, how would you survive?

You wouldn't be able to drive because you couldn't afford it.

You wouldn't need a prepped pantry full of 10+ years of food. You wouldn't have a pantry.

I think the Christians would all be nomadic. Maybe we would barter and forage. Maybe we would just have to stick really close together.

But I think of Luke 9, Jesus told the 12 to go with nothing. I feel like it was an act of faith for them and that the Lord would provide for them on their journey.

Yes and that is an intense one and if you think about it, the pharmaceutical industry IS probably the most important in the world. Im not sure what would be more important, food or medicine...

I would think medicine because you can't just grow pills in your backyard. We are 100% reliant on them.

We come out of a great tribulation. Whether that means we go through one and then come out, or never deal with it and come out being rescued, I don't really know.

I think both happen.
There is: pray you will be counted worthy to escape that time of testing coming on the whole world to test its people. I look at it as some will escape it in the gathering if their testing of trust happens now and they are firm in it.

Then there is also the verses we all pieced together and the one about those under the altar who came out of the tribulation. I look at it as those who needed more refining to come out unshakable in their trust.
