Romans 8

King James Version

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Yes, I agree, this is not talking about an empty confession, but a real confession.

Matthew 7:21-22 KJV
21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

This was an empty confession and not from the Holy Spirit.

Much love!
You beat me too it, I was going to say the same thing..

The Holy Spirit is the "incorruptible seed" but the Holy Spirit is not the Living Word of God. No such Scripture.

Peter identified "the word of God" in "1 Peter 1:23' as being that same "word" of the Gospel that was preached to them.

1 Peter 1:23-25 (WEB)
23 having been born again, not of/from [Greek: ek] corruptible seed [the fleshly nature], but of/from [Greek: ek] incorruptible, [Holy Spirit],
through/by [Greek: dia] the word of God, which lives and remains forever. 24 For,

All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.
” [Isaiah 40:6-8]

{{{This is}}} the word of the Gospel which was preached to you.

The believer is born of God of the incorruptible seed (Holy Spirit) through/by the Word that was preached to them.
Amen

the word, which by the way, endures forever.

That same word is the means by which the HS is given (eph 1: 13 - 14)

But only through faith.. Not before.. Amen

John 15

King James Version

15 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Hi. Yes, this is so very clear to understand from God's Word if a person does not ignore or try to re-interpret what God plainly stated by His Prophets and Apostles.

To this day, I am still amazed how professing Christians can look at the Scriptures being quoted and still do not understand them, or reject them, so they can hold onto their man-made doctrines that can save no one.

You are a blessing on this Board, and I hope I see you often.

Love in Christ our Savior, and our Lord.

We agree that no one who is born of God will continue living in sin; however, we are born of God of the Spirit by faith because of the Word that was preached to us.

Ephesians 1:13 (WEB) 13 In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation - in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit

Therefore,
since being born of God is through faith in the truth, the born again Christian must remain in the faith to continue to be born of God (Eternal Life), as Paul states:

Paul taught us that the indwelling Spirit will only give Eternal Life (rebirth of the Spirit) to the Christians who sow to the Spirit without giving up.

Galatians 6:7-9 (Writing to the Church in Galatia) 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows [continuous sowing] to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows [continuous sowing] to please the Spirit, {{{from the Spirit}}} will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if WE (believers) do not give up.

The Spirit indwelt believers are admonished to live sanctified lives onto God, and that the Spirit indwelt believer who rejects this is rejecting God.

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 (To the Christians in Thessalonica) 7 For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification. 8 Therefore he who rejects this doesn’t reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you.
so your saying the spirit can be lost once he seals us? Want to understand

New King James Version

New American Standard Bible
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God.

If a person is truly led by the Spirit, then he is living by the Spirit (Romans 8:12-13), walking by the Spirit (Romans 8:3-4; Galatians 5:16, 24-25), sowing to the Spirit (Galatians 6:7-9) so he may have life in the Spirit.

Unfortunately, not every Christian continues to live, walk, and sow to the Spirit, and so, such a Christian is no longer being led by the Spirit who indwells him; rather, they grieve (Ephesians 4:17-32), quench (1 Thessalonians 5:19), insult/enrage (Hebrews 10:24-31), reject (1 Thessalonians 4:1-8), lie to (Acts 5:3), and test (Acts 5:9) the indwelling Spirit.

Christians who reject, insult, and enrage the indwelling Spirit will suffer eternal punishment if not confessed and repented of (Hebrews 10:24-31; Revelation 3:1-6; Romans 11:19-22). The real possibility of falling away from THE [definite article] Faith is taught in Scripture by the Apostles.

To "walk" in the Spirit (Romans 8:3-4; Galatians 5:24-25) means to walk in the light (1 John 6:7), which means to follow Lord Jesus.

John 8:12
(WEB) “I am the light of the world. {Isaiah 60:1} He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

We follow Lord Jesus by walking as Lord Jesus walked, living by His Words.

1 John 2:3-4 (WEB) 3 This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments. 4 One who says, “I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.

The Christian who commits his life to follow Lord Jesus is the one whom the Spirit will lead.

The world is filled with false teachers who profess they have the Spirit, but they teach things that go beyond what is written. How will you know the truth from the false without God's Word?

1 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV) 6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.”

No one is saying anything about Scripture knowledge "making" someone Born Again.

Being Born Again is by faith in the Gospel Word about Christ.

John 7:38 (WEB) 38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive.
YES!

For we have been saved by grace through faith.

The reason you say that is,imo.

You do not..understand the Living Spiritual rebirth.
To be honest, I stopped trying to worry about your opinion awhile ago.

Facts are fact. when we think we are so perfect in our faith we do not need to study to show ourselves approved. We are in serious need of a take down. because our pride needs to be broken

so your saying the spirit can be lost once he seals us? Want to understand

First of all, the believer receives the Spirit as a seal. The guarantee of the seal is only for the true believer, not those who fall from the faith, practicing sin. However, as we will see, the Spirit still dwells in the Christian who fell away, but the guarantee of Life is lost.

All the promises of God belong only to those who believe, and remain so, and not every Christian will remain.

Hebrews 4:1 (WEB) Let {{{us}}} [Paul includes himself] fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a {{promise of entering}} into {{His Rest.}}

Hebrews 4:11 (EWEB) 11 Let {{{us}}} [Paul includes himself] therefore give diligence to enter into that Rest, lest anyone fall after the {{same example of disobedience}}.

Hebrews 6:11-12 (WEB) 11 We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end, 12 that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherited the promises.

Hebrews 3:12-15 (WEB) 12 Beware, brothers and sisters [Christians], lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; 13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”, lest anyone of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we [brothers and sisters, Paul includes himself] have become partakers of Christ, {{{if we}}} [Paul includes himself] hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end, 15 while it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.” [Psalm 95:7-8]

And so, the Spirit continues to reside in the Christian who grieves, quenches, and insults the Spirit, but the new life (the new birth) the Spirit gives is lost, until the Christian who is practicing sin repents and again lives by the Spirit.

Therefore, the Apostle Paul admonishes and warns the believers that they are responsible to continue to live by the Spirit to have life in the Spirit.

Consider carefully the following Scriptures regarding these warnings, and keep in mind that Paul is addressing his Epistles to the true Spirit-indwelt believers.

Romans 8:3-4 (WEB) 3 For what the law couldn’t do; in that, it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:12-14 (WEB) 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

Galatians 6:7 (WEB) Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will {{{from the Spirit}}} reap eternal life. 9 {{{Let us}}} not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, {{{if we}}} do not give up.

Galatians 5:24-25 (WEB) 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified [past tense] the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Full context of the above shows the dire warning to Christians, in that, only those who continue to walk by the Spirit are the ones who belong to Christ. The warning is that, if the Christian practices sin, then he will not inherit the kingdom of God - even though he has the Spirit living in him. Because the Spirit will not give life (Galatians 6:7-9) to the Christian who insults/enrages the Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10:24-31).

Galatians 5:16-25 (WEB) 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk [keep in step with] by the Spirit.

You told me I didn’t know what Born Again meant, please don’t deny it....I am not making a show, I am trying to communicate with you...

Everything I know, I have learnt from my teacher the Living Holy Spirit...he has shown me I can learn by no other, what I say, he gives me the words to say...when I’m under the influence of His Spirit, that is my belief.

Sometimes we are all under our own influence..” self”..xx

Why must we argue over our belief, we used to get along so well and I miss our friendship that we once had.

Why can’t we just respect each other’s belief.? @Eternally Grateful ?xx

You seem to have cut ties with me because I don’t believe as you do in every area, that hurt me,some areas I agree 100% with you..can we still be friends, you know Behold and you have always been special to me,xx
do you know how to keep on subject?

You made a statement (I do not need to read) I made a comment (when anyone gets to this point, they are in danger)

what does your point in this post have to do with that discussion?

Your deflecting.. That is what it is called..

If you want to discuss your comment ( I do nto need to read) and my response, feel free. Otherwise. I am not going to respond to your deflective attacks which has absolutely nothing to do with what we were talking about.

First of all, the believer receives the Spirit as a seal. The guarantee of the seal is only for the true believer, not those who fall from the faith, practicing sin. However, as we will see, the Spirit still dwells in the Christian who fell away, but the guarantee of Life is lost.
ok lets look at this.

I agree the guarantee is only for the real believer. Not the make believers (those who claim to be of faith but are decieved)

All the promises of God belong only to those who believe, and remain so, and not every Christian will remain.
Or could it be said Gods promise are only to those who truly believe, for they WILL remain..

when you write it as you did, you make it appear that our ability or work of remaining is earning our salvation.
Hebrews 4:1 (WEB) Let {{{us}}} [Paul includes himself] fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a {{promise of entering}} into {{His Rest.}}

Hebrews 4:11 (EWEB) 11 Let {{{us}}} [Paul includes himself] therefore give diligence to enter into that Rest, lest anyone fall after the {{same example of disobedience}}.

Hebrews 6:11-12 (WEB) 11 We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end, 12 that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherited the promises.

ok I see what your saying so they lose fellowship, not the childship (they are still sons and daughters?

But John said a child of God can not practice sin. so when you say when a christian practices sin will not inherit the kingdom seems a tad legalistic to me.. And worries me some. which is why I am trying to understand hat you are saying before I make any rash conclusions which are in error.

Galatians 5:16-25 (WEB) 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. yes. Those who are in Christ, sealed by the spirit and adopted as sons and daughters learn to walk in the spirit..

This is also incorrect. According to Jesus, if the Father prepares the heart of a person, that individual will believe and never fall away.
This is very true, Brother, reason being we have been Born Again by the Living Holy Spirit.....we were chosen and predestined to become children of God, therefore as we have been Born Again of imperishable/ incorruptible seed, which is the seed of the Holy Spirit, that liveth and abideth forever.

That seed that was planted into our hearts by the Living Holy Spirit, who as you know is Gods witness in us, can never ever die, but first we must receive that Living seed, into our spirit, we know in our spirit when we have been Born Again....that happens in a flickering of an eye, that is the Living spiritual rebirth, Born Again,...then we check it out with the written word and there we are Born Again.

When God makes us Born Again via His Spirit......that’s it we are now his property....he uses us to Glorify His Name...to be his witness and to bear Jesus fruit..the power within is working in our hearts every day to become the image of Jesus and to become obedient to our Father in Heaven......we die to self then we find life, you know whose life that is in, the name of Jesus......my testimony and belief..

Hope all is well with you Brother,xx
