You need to address what I'm getting at: the idol at the center of conservative politics at this time.

I continue to disagree with Trump's policies in respect to the recent riots. This god has his lacks. I will follow Jesus Christ the Lord.
I think the thin layer of gold on the idol may be wearing thin.

I was surprised, really, that the flag wasn't lowered for the George Floyd funeral. I was thinking if Trump wanted to look pious, he would declared today a day of prayer. His silence on racism is deafening too. I think he just lost Florida and maybe Texas and North Carolina. His support from minorites was already low. It's gone even lower, and he needs every vote he can get in swing states. We are also seeing some Republican Senators from swing states trying to distance themselves from him.

Maybe politeness doesn't matter to you; but I good manners are the Golden Rule in action.

I know that from the black people I have known.

That's nice. Guess that would make identification easier, once you know a person.

I noticed you AGAIN avoided my question.

What question? This one?
Out of curiosity, can you provide your SOURCE, for a study or poll, to back up your claim of "racial teaching of Politeness" ?
I did answer it. I know of no such study or poll. I told you how I knew that, so why are you dragging this point on and on? Do you enjoy pointless conversations that go in cirlces?

I know that from the black people I have known.

If you knew more black people that you could talk to about this sort of thing, you might know about what is called "the talk." Frankly, it's hard for me sometimes as a white person to talk to you. I can't imagine you understanding the viewpoint of black people. You seem to be more interested in arguing with people than with understanding them.

Seriously? Who is it that's rioting? Trashing communities? That's not confidence in government! That's lawlessness.
Police brutality is also lawlesnesss. Is a policeman acting as prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner an example of law and order?

I can understand people...no problem...I simply do not agree with them.

BTW I don't select acquaintances or friends by racial or any looks of a person.

The riots were caused by people bent on destruction and chaos (regardless of reason), 2 wrongs don't make a right, and all this began with BLM. They started the protests.

They may have started the protests but they have the constitutional right to assemble and to seek a redress of grievances. If it is okay to attack this right then the first and second amendments to the constitution can be challenged.

It was outside groups and not BLM that caused the destruction and chaos.

It was perceived by the Republicans that the Democrats held Obama up as some sort of savior, your perception is that the Republican's hold Trump up as some sort of Savior.
Are you really unable to see this? It's exactly what happened. lol

This is not possible. Obama and the Democrats understood very clearly that the Republicans held the Senate and would block everything that he did. And the Republicans did that, trying to seek to rob Obama of any legislative and executive accomplishment. Difficult to hold up Obama as a Savior in such circumstances.

Now Trump is a human god in the Republican Party, "anointed" as a "christ" by prominent Evangelicals in the White House. No Republican has went against him without losing to one of his supporters in an ensuing primary. He has escaped any check upon his power, even those that are clearly outlined in the constitution.

I will maintain my position. For me, I only accept Jesus Christ. I will not accept any other "anointed" leaders.

The prince of this world is satan, he has set up a great organization, world governments, in order to control and deceive. This is what kind of government you are putting your faith in, your hope. John said that the spirit of the anti christ is already here! It is in our schools, our governments, in organizations - can't you see the corruption all around you? When you put your faith in anything other than God, that is idolatry, so for any believer to put their trust in any government, any organization - that is idoltry. To esteem another man - Obama - that IS idolatry. Do not put your trust in the flesh of man.

I agree that the prince of this world is satan, and that he has a great influence in human governance, but God also has a great influence in that same governance. As I already observe, Obama's power was greatly limited in his time. Trump is not limited in his power. Most of that power is untrammeled by any restraint. This is a necessary precondition of the antichrist, the lawless one. The lawless one now already exists in the man esteemed by Republicans, the "anointed one", Donald Trump. Why can't you see this? Do not put your trust in the flesh of man.

The human governance the democrats want to bring in is socialism, this ensures the rich stay richer and it brings everyone else down to a very low level, it rids society of any middle class. It tips the scale where more people are on welfare than working, this can not sustain itself. Do a study on world history, it doesn't work.

But isn't this missing the main point that, under the Republicans, the rich stay richer and it brings everyone else down to a very low level, it rids society of any middle class. Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans are largely indifferent to welfare, social security, a living wage, affordable health care, etc. None of this is prolife and much of it is anti-family.

I'm not convinced, marks, with what you're saying. I cannot support another "anointed one" that I must believe in and unquestioningly accept his authority. I will only accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

It would have been a marvelous moment for Trump to try to reach out to the minority community and seek their favor. I do not understand why he threw away the political opportunity to do so. I suppose many Republicans are wondering about this as well.

Agreed. But it was not BLM, but outsiders taking advantage of the situation.

BLM has the constitutional right to assembly and to seek a redress of grievances.

Thank you marks for considering these things.

No, of course not!

And therein is the answer. Address those illegal acts. Work within the law. Don't create chaos to extort your society.

While I don't necessarily agree that BLM was not involved - just the same. Where was the outrage against those killed by the rioters? Against the looting? Not there. Only, Let's go again, and bigger! But if you look at the patterns, it bespeaks coordination.

If we will open our own eyes instead of following the media, or someone else's narrative, these things are clear.

Don't try to minimize the damage done by BLM. If you would honestly address issues, it would serve your cause better. BLM did not need outsiders. They ARE outsiders, being paid handsomely by the likes of Soros and other to bring anarchy to America.

We shouldn't go making an Idol out of someone's anger.

I get that people are angry, and we all have the right to protest, but to coddle their chaos?

Make out that there is some "racial guilt" that must be assuaged by pandering to the lawless left?

Just because they have a cause, we should all fawn over their right to destroy and kill? That's the narrative that's being projected.

But their rights END at the end of their collective noses. Smash windows, steal things, burn property, do you defend that? Instigate violence?

What utter absolute Leftist rubbish. 41% of blacks support Trump.
Who makes up such fake statistics?

Do you have legitmate poll that shows that? Of course not.

A recent poll in Texas should make Trump be afraid of losing there. He's tied with Biden with both at 48%.

https://www.texasdemocrats.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/TexasResults.pdf

The demographics interested me. Most people who voted for Hillary said they'd be voting for Biden. That number went up 5%. The people who voted for Trump and who said they would vote for him again went down 5%. Now to the racial demographics. Trump was ahead with white voters 67 to 31. Biden was ahead with Latinos 66 to 23 and with blacks 97 to 1.

So Trump has 1% of the black vote in Texas but 41% nationally? Get real. The latest national poll I found has Trump with 12% of the black vote, 18% of the Latino and 46% of the white. I don't know if you're gullible and believe whatever rubbish you read at certain sites or if you make stuff up like Trump.

Poll here: Biden pushes out to 10-point lead over Trump in new Hill/Harris X poll

I need to research his campaign people. Either they aren't giving him good advice or he's not taking it. I did hear though that he wanted to stop at his golf club in New Jersey after his "campaign stop" in Maine; but his advisors told him it would be disastrous PR, so he flew back to the White House. Then it was back to Twitter to break his former record of 142 tweets and retweets. He had tweeted 74 times in one hour (another record I think) before going to Maine. Then up to Washington to break his daily record of tweets and retweets. I get the impression the people who work for him try to avoid him as much as possible so he's pretty isolated and spends his time tweeting.

Story here: Trump broke his all-time tweeting record amid nationwide protests, sending more tweets in a single day than he did during his impeachment trial

I'm like you. I don't understand why Trump didn't reach out with some kind words. It would been good for the whole nation, and it would have been smart politically for him. I don't get it. Maybe his campaign staff hate him and actually want him to lose while they take his money.

The outrage was primarily focused on the outrage of police murder. If we accept that BLM was not involved in the riots and the lawlessness, how can they respond to the rioters if they're being attacked by the police. Are you asking too much from the BLM protestors. Concerning looking at underlying patterns that speak of coordination, how can this be proven? Do you have any evidence of this?

If we will open our own eyes instead of following the media, or someone else's narrative, these things are clear.

When you have a profession fireworks display As the police station is burning . . . this takes money, planning, and preparation.

How can this be proven? How can one, making this assertion be kept from being labelled as paranoid or as a conspiracy theorist?

I can understand your mistrust of government on a certain level, but when is the time for proof of assertions become important for the good of the country?

In following Christ, we rest within his power so that we can face all things with courage and equanimity. At a certain point, we need not delve into the secret machinations of the wealthy, but follow the One who knows what is hidden. We must guard ourselves against evil, especially those forms of it which are encompassed by hatred. We must be wary of those that would dominate us through our weaknesses. Of course, you know all of these things. Thank you very much for your thoughts.

I think most of the protesters are trying to work within the law. They are protesting because they don't like lawlessness.

There is always the danger of extremists infiltrating a movement for their own purposes. Do you remember how racists tried to hijack the Tea Party movement? In some places, they did. In other places the Tea Party organizers got smart and isolated them telling them they didn't want them around. Then greedy people infiltrated the Tea Party and they really succeeded. They raised tons of money but spent very little of it on the way they promised.
