Sorry Marilyn, the nations mentioned in Daniel 2 Statue prophecy were the nations that had dominion over the land of Babylon up to around 120 BC when the Seleucid Empire decided to devastate and desolate the Land of Babylon by carrying the utility structures away along with its citizens and scattering both the utilities and people through the extremes of their dominion.
This was before the Roman Empire had any dominion over the middle east. The Roman Empire became dominate after/around 60 BC. This means that the Roman Empire never had dominion over the land of Babylon. Jeremiah in Jer 50:39 prophesied that Babylon would be devastated and desolated for a period of two ages.
39 "Therefore, the wild desert beasts shall dwell there with the jackals,
And the ostriches shall dwell in it.
Nor shall it be inhabited for a fixed period of time,
It shall not be dwelt in for two ages.

In Revelation 16:19, we are also told this that happened in 1926 AD when France and Britian gave dominion over the land of Babylon to a new nation that was called Iraq.
Rev 16:19: - 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
As such the Roman Empire could not be the fourth segment of the Daniel 2 Statue. Logically the fifth Segment came into view when the USA and 19 other nations banded together to invade Iraq, i.e. the land f Babylon in 2003 AD
So, your continuation of the roman Empire as being the fourth segment of the Daniel 2 statue prophecy is false and could not have been envisioned before the start of the 20th century.
Telling of an understanding from over 600 years ago is very misleading particularly since the evidence points to anothe conclusion.

The Roman Empire is not associated with a Daniel 2 Statue Segment.
Yes, the roman Empire may have chosen to inhabit the dominion of the third beast, and displayed the dominate characteristic of the third beast, i.e. exerted dominion over other nations etc., but the Roman Empire is not one of the four beasts, it does manifest the third beast.

That doesn`t make sense (to me). God`s word and history show that the Roman Empire was the next great empire after Greece.
The Daniel 2 Statue dream/prophecy was initially given to King Nebuchadnezzar, and the statue was made up of five segments which would exercise dominion over the land of Babylon. The first three segments exercised dominion over the Land of Babylon.
We then need to read Jeremiah 50 to see what Jeremaih recorded about 19 years after Daniel had revealed the Daniel 2 Statue prophecy.
Jeremiah 50: - Judgment on Babylon and Babylonia
50:1 The word that the Lord spoke against Babylon and against the country of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.
2 "Declare among the nations,
Proclaim, and set up a standard;

Doug thanks for your put down under the guise of offering up advise. The way the scriptures have been presented is because I copied the chapter of Jer 50 from the Biblehub web site. The reason why I have had to break the chapter up is because of the forum's limitation of only allowing posts to have a limitation of only 10,000 characters including spaces. The basis of what I had posted included a number of necessary corrections to improve the context of the translation. Even the KJV needs these same corrections to the translated texts.
I also included my own footnotes to help with the understanding of the context and some of those footnotes were other scriptures that confirmed that the Land of Babylon would lay devastated and desolated for a period of time which would be for two ages/around 2048 years or provided the context of who and how the Babylonians were removed such that the land was not lived in by people during this timeframe.
Now if you have chosen to not read my presentation over four posts that that is you call, others may take the time to read and come to a better understanding of what the chapter presented concerning the history of the land of Babylon and understood that Babylon did not come under the dominion of the Roman Empire, some 60 years after Babylon had been devastated and desolated by the Greeks when their dominance began to spread.

It seems we agree that the great Image was standing in front of the King in Babylon and that each of the 5 parts (agreed) was ruling over there. On the map we can see clearly that the Roman Empire did rule over Babylon.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is spending millions of dollars into protecting and restoring – Babylon and some other ancient ruins. UNESCO has printed up a well-produced brochure, with Babylon listed as the premier destination, to hand out to wealthy donors.

If my maths is correct around 120 BC the Greeks carted the Babylon and their utilities off and settled them elsewhere all over their empire at that time.
Then in 1926 AD the France and Britian establish a nation once more over the Land of Babylon, which they called Iraq around 2048 years later.
Now referencing Rev 16:17-21 we read: -

Please note that I have inserted notes into the above passage to help clarify what the imagery is conveying along with the dates of the events that are being described. I have also changed the translation of the Greek word "Seismos" from "earthquake" to "turmoil" as it is a better fit to the context being referenced with this Greek word.
I trust that this will helps to understand where I am coming from.
