The modern day Satanist comes from all walks of life and we would be better to view them as somone in a business suit that works in politics. Its important to understand that like anything like this it comes down to your ideology, meaning it comes down to your set of beliefs. Satanist don't worship the devil this is just child's play. Satinism is where we worship ourselves and can be seen as an out of controle ego. Many many people in this world hold the ideology of Satanism without even knowing it as do many people live by God and do not claim to be Christian. You see it has nothing to do with what we say we are. Man is judged by his fruit not his prayer of salvation. When people ask me if I'm a Christian I tell them that I "identify" as a Christian but at the same time I do not limit God to anything. We cannot box God in and say "this is God but anything outside of this is not God". This is man trying to dictate what is True when in fact the truth always was and always has been here even before man as it is eternal. The Truth is objective, we do not own it or dictate it. Truth is everywhere and in everything, God has never been confined within the limits of Christianity, God operates everywhere. Jesus identified as Christian obviously because he can be seen as a perfect image or manifestation of God although he never claimed to be Christian because he understood this nature of God. When people asked who he was he simply states "I Am".
