I think it is a logical inference. Do you?
Yes I do for the most part yet, I am not convinced that angels were necessarily created in Gods image. A big possible and maybe even probable but...not yet convinced. I had to leave off researching for a few hours.
Thank you for your reply @Matthias

Thank you for the reply. Here are some verses that seem to say that angels do sing:

Here are some Bible verses about angels singing:
No. In Job, the angels shouted, not sang. In Luke the angels were saying, not singing.

The 24 elders sing, not the angels.

In Revelation 5:8-10 - When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they *sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

Angels didn't sing here either.
Revelation 5:11 -
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”

Remember that it is the 24 elders are holding the harps and singing. No angels
Revelation 15:1-3 - Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.
2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. 3 And they *sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

“Great and marvelous are Your works,
O Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are Your ways,
King of the nations!

Greetings Matthias,
The angels didn’t create mankind - Yahweh did that, alone, by himself - but I believe he did so after speaking first with his angelic court.
“Who is God talking to here [Genesis 1:26]? Who is the us and the our?
I suggest that the "us" and "our" is the Angels and the One God, Yahweh, God the Father, and God is inviting the Angels to participate in the creation of man in the image and likeness of God and the Angels. The Angels participated but God is the overall creator. Yahweh is the ultimate power and the wisdom in the creative process, the Angels are ministering servants. I also consider that Psalm 8:5 which summarises Genesis 1:26-27 verifies this explanation. Also when Angels appeared they were often mistaken as men at first. I do not agree that Angels have wings, and the Cherubim and Seraphim are symbolic creatures, not physical Angels.

Kind regards
Trevor

Question of the week: Genesis 1:26-27 states that God created humans in his own image. Do you think the angels also were made in the image of God? Weren’t they referred to as ‘sons of God?’

My answer: The term “sons of God” is used in the Bible to refer to either angels or to humans who have been redeemed from their sin. The Bible never refers to angels being made in the image of God but the angels being called the sons of God implies that in some context God did make them in his image. However, the manner in which God created humans in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) is distinct from the manner in which God created the angels in his image. …”

This author gives a qualified positive response to the question. What about you?

What does it mean to be created in the image of God?
The fact that God calls them 'sons of God' is a strong indication that they, at the least, were given some type of a close association with God.

Thanks. There is a hierarchy among the angels, so some have ruling authority over others. All of the holy angels serve God, and the Messiah, and mankind in general.

It’s slightly off topic, or perhaps would make a good thread in its own right, but there is mention in the Bible of angels of the seven churches and of guardian angels.

All of this taken together infers - I’m inclined to think correctly, that the angels were created in the image of God.
The early church work Celestial Hierarchy enumerates 9 different types of angels, in 3 groups:

Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones in the highest
Dominions, Virtues, and Powers in the middle
Principalities, Archangels, and Angels

They don't all look the same or have similar characteristics. For instance, seraphim are said to be fiery, a trait not shared with any of the other groups.

Greetings Wick Stick,
The early church work Celestial Hierarchy enumerates 9 different types of angels, in 3 groups:
Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones in the highest
The reason why I consider the Seraphim of Isaiah 6, the Cherubim of Ezekiel 1 and the four Beasts or Living Creatures of Revelation 4 are symbolic and not real Angels is that the Seraphim have 6 wings, and the activity of their wings is described, but their face is not described, each Cherubim had four wings and four faces each, a lion, an eagle, an ox and a man, a rather unusual combination for one Cherubim, while there are four different Beasts or Living Creatures with only one head each, and they had six wings like the Seraphim, but each had different heads respectively, and these are a lion, an eagle, an ox and a man.

Kind regards
Trevor
