I've seen where used book stores will have an assortment of bargain books on their stoop, but also some neighborhoods, rich and poor, will have a library of sorts where people may come and take and trade books. There's a church nearby that has a small used bookstore, and there I found "The Knowledge Of The Holy" by AW Tozer. To me that book was a mind blower. I'd been raised Baptist and thought I was well grounded, especially where it came down to who God is, what he likes, what he hates and what he expects from those who claim to love and follow him. I was so wrong. That Tozer book led me to another, "The Crucified Life", the introduction of which led me to Francois Fenelon. Tozer had a pretty good library, but there was one book he would not lend out and that book was "Christian Perfection" by Fenelon. and he let someone copy it to be published in English. I bought a copy, paying far more for a trade paperback version than I ever had before. So my reading stack is largely populated by Tozer and Fenelon these days.
