OSAS is the lie.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

The lie originated in the garden of Eden by Satan.

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. Genesis 3:4

THE LIE = Go ahead and sin you won’t die… because once saved always saved.
i agree that it becomes a LIE when it is misinterpreted = "THE LIE, Go ahead and sin you won’t die… because once saved always saved."

John 10:25-30 = Is Christ's Promise to us of God's Faithfulness and Power to KEEP us in HIM, unless we allow our heart to depart from His.

Hebrews 7:25 = The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing; Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.
Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 12:2 = Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Faith,

OSAS is true is one sense, IF you hold on to your faith to the end.

This is what our eternal security is based on!

AS the author of Hebrews said, "for we are made partakers with Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence to the end."

That confidence is our Faith in the finished work of Christ.

I am adding this one to yours

Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

AS the author of Hebrews said, "for we are made partakers with Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence to the end."
"are made" is in the Perfect tense, meaning that being done, the result is ongoing. Like, you cast a bell, and it's never been rung. Then you ring it. Now it is a "rung bell", and can never again be an "unrung bell". Paul used the same tense in saying he's seen the risen Christ. He will never again be someone who has not seen Him.

Here, "are made partakers" is something that happens to you or not, and you know whether it did actually happen if in fact you hold your confidence to the end. The true endure. The false do not.

I realize this means you cannot look to this verse as saying you may cease to be a partaker of Christ, it's just not written that way. That's just the way it is.

Much love!

Rather,

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 KJV
19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Romans 5:15 KJV
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Our reconciliation to God is not based on our behavior, it's based on what Jesus did. Otherwise, would anyone have any security at all? Is your salvation based on your faithfulness to God, or God's faithfulness to you? I know my answer!

Much love!

But what Christ did will not benefit anyone without faith in what He did.

Of course!

John 1:12-13 KJV
12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

We believe, receive Jesus, and God regenerates us.

Having been reborn, we now have God's Spirit living in us, and we have become new people.

Romans 5:9-11 LITV
9) Much more then, being justified now by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him.
10) For if while being enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life;
11) and not only so, but also glorying in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we now received the reconciliation.

We are reconciled to God through Jesus, even being His enemies. This is to say, we are reconciled to God before we believe. But we must receive the reconciliation.

So now we are reconciled to God not be anything we did or didn't do, but because of what Jesus did. Not us. This is important to understand. We receive the reconciliation that Jesus obtained for us.

Much love!

Sounds like we agree salvation is all of God and none of man.

Only that we receive the gift God is giving to us. We do nothing to be reconciled to God, that happened fully apart from us.

Much love!

I have a feeling this is going in a certain direction.

Sounds familiar for some reason.

Looking to JESUS the Author and Finisher of Faith

IF we keep our hearts and eyes on the LORD, HE then keeps us in His Faith by the Holy Spirit

Let's see this in action = Revelation 12:10-12

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
