The Greek word "eusebeia" is used 15x in the Epistles. It's usually translated "godliness", but what the hell does "godly" mean? "God-like?" I don't think so. Strongs says "eusebeia" means "reverence, respect, piety towards God".
Now, in the company of "respect and reverence towards God", "piety" doesn't look too bad, does it?
