The one that has been the hardest for you to do has also been the hardest one to hear.
From what I've learned, the mark of the beast was associated with the mind or the hand. It symbolized pledging allegiance to an earthly king or kingdom rather than to the King who came to save the people of that time. I don't see it as a modern physical mark. Instead, it can be understood as where a person's loyalty lies, whether in their own beliefs and desires or in God. Likewise, allegiance to God is reflected in living by the Spirit of Christ and developing a Christ-centered mindset.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't obey the laws of the land, either. Actions have consequences, and we are still responsible for how we conduct ourselves. Following Christ isn't about rejecting all authority, but about keeping our highest allegiance to God while living wisely, respectfully, and responsibly among others.
